Breaking Down

This is my first full album release. Its supposed to express a very wide range of emotions, most of which are very conflicting. There are several songs just just don't fit, but that is the point of this album.

Turbulence

I'm a bilingual singer-songwriter, so I couldn't help but translate this Patrick Watson song.

Lyrics:

Je te laisserai des mots (English Version)

This song was probably my favorite to write. Of all the songs I have made, and I am still making for Liminal, this one is my personal favorite. There was no direction, there was no incentive, or anything when I wrote this. All I was asked was "I want you to make a song that sounds like a beacon in a stormy, pitch black night, and then I want you to rip it away painfully."
This is among the first songs I have written that was in a very light-hearted mood. As I said earlier, I'm so so very happy with how it came out. 
This song was also one of the first times I've tried using a new mastering technique to make every instrument pop out and sing in its own regards.
To describe the scene in which this is used, I'll generalize it. Pretty much, this long dragon soars in and out of the sand and flies around the desert, and once the whole orchestra steps in, it flies up and knocks stars from the sky. While this is happening, something dark and grim happens off in the distance while the audience is distracted. This, once the peace and fun gets ripped away from you is meant to jump-scare you and pull you back into the dark, grim reality of whats actually happening mid-sequence.
