Breaking Down

This is my first full album release. Its supposed to express a very wide range of emotions, most of which are very conflicting. There are several songs just just don't fit, but that is the point of this album.

Turbulence

I'm a bilingual singer-songwriter, so I couldn't help but translate this Patrick Watson song.

Lyrics:

Here, I'll talk a bit about how this song was made, and why its so funny.
This song was actually made *before* Rowan asked me to be part of Liminal. I was sitting in a world with a few buddies in Neos (predecessor to Resonite, Neos is dead now), watching a meme compilation. This one meme popped up with some kid singing a song in very poor Chinese. Summarized by another friend who translated it: 

""In the majority of the translations it was "I speak the words of the wild boar" or "I must purge the words of the wild boar" or "I must clear the words of the wild boar". Its not very clear.

"Wisdom"  was paraphrased from "As an old man", "with age", "with growth".

The "iron" refers directly to the heart but it also says in translation that it is "heavy" or that it is "weight" and only with "age" can it be "carried".""

This was completely coincidental that we used this for Liminal as the song fits very very well into the story-line. 
Anyway, I said something along the lines of "I can really hear this being made into a full song," and my buddy immediately replied "No the hell you cant." So I did.
Rather, I made a way simpler and less involved version of the current song. Sometime later, when Rowan had reached out to me, I sent him the wip that I had sketched up just to get another pair of ears as input and suggestions for how I can improve it. He told me that it would fit perfectly inside of Liminal.
So, over the course of a few months, I kept chipping away at the song until this version right here.
The other version, the non-extended cut, was cut down and changed a little bit with more dramatic pauses in places to make the scene more emotive, and fit within that 2-2.5 minute time-span for keeping attention (We figured this out after having playing the entirety of the 5.5 minutes of Recursion).
This is my second favorite song that I wrote for Liminal, as its the one that got the most attention from me on, alongside the most support in its development from friends and family.
