Did The Bearded Man ever tell you about the Richest Man in Babylon? As the story goes, this rich man of ancient times accumulated his vast wealth through simple money practices, saving 1 out of every 10 copper coins earned, making those coins work for him instead of against him, and so on. Over time, his simple views on money led him to become the wealthiest man in the region, a feat which he proclaimed wasn't that hard to do if people just followed his simple rules... Bullshit. Well, at least that's what The Bearded Man told his ex-girlfriend right before they broke up. The Bearded Man's path has never been one of 'get rich slowly', rather, it's been 'live fast and die hard'. While other people were maxing out their 401Ks, waiting for wealth that will never come, The Bearded Man was writing a song. To the rest of the world, it looked like our hero was wasting his time while everyone else was making progress toiling in the salt mines. Friends and family scoffed at his lack of a dental plan, but he knew better - he kept chipping away at that song. When the song was finally complete, he played it for a free-spirited girl who understood the magic of his way of thinking. Needless to say, the song worked gangbusters, and the girl fell for him head over heels. Now, without a single gray hair on his beard, The Bearded Man drives a Ferrari while all the other suckers beg their bosses for an extra 5 minutes of lunch. Ladies and gentlemen, *this* is that song, and as for the girl? Well, we truly hope you get the chance to meet her someday, She really is worth it.

Smash The House has a reputation for bringing new artists to the fore, and this track is another shining example of label heads Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s ability to unearth exceptional talent. ‘Sunset’ is the first official track from the Brussels-based Magic Wand, and features mesmerising vocals from Australian Emma Carn, fresh from her releases on Armada Music sub-label The Bearded Man and Kontor Records last year, this debut collaboration showcasing the pair’s individual qualities expertly and setting them both up for a huge 2016. 

‘Sunset’ begins by combining numerous layers of dreamy guitar licks, which, when entwined with Carn’s delicate, ethereal vocals, create a Tropical House anthem that is sure to make serious waves in the dance music scene and further afield. The pulsating bassline and straight up 4/4 beat, however, ensure that the track more than holds its own in a club, while the vocals in the breakdown are guaranteed to create a hands-in-the-air moment any time the track is played across international dancefloors and events worldwide this year.

While the pair both may be at the beginning of their journey into dance music, with backing already coming in from the likes of the scenes biggest hitters such as Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and an undeniable ear for crafting hit music, 2016 looks on course to be the year Magic Wand and Emma Carn are two names on everybody’s lips. One thing is certain; it doesn’t look like the sun will be setting on either of their burgeoning careers any time soon.
