Joey Beltram was a big influence in my formative years. His ability to bring the funk into house and techno was, and still is an inspiration.
The Mentasm EP saw Joey team up with his childhood friend, Edmundo Perez, under the alias Second Phase.
For me, the Mentasm hoover was the defining sound of rave. I really wanted to produce a remix that rang true to the tracks original energy and direction.

Second Phase - Mentasm (Beat Mongrel remix)

Recently relocated to Jávea on Spain’s Costa Blanca, the ever-elaborate Beat Mongrel is an empowered Techno artist with an eclectic musical palate. His music background is deeply rooted in jazz fusion, indie and rock, before discovering his passion for electronic music. 

His approach to music leans in the direction of endless possibility and constructing an image through layers of sound. Throughout the years, absorbing the rich and diverse musical culture of his hometown of Bristol, Beat Mongrel’s understanding of electronic music has aided in the development of refining himself as an artist. 

Beat Mongrel’s main impetus is dancefloor-orientated House and Techno music, driven explicitly by funk and groove. 

A seasoned DJ at heart, he is now fully invested in growing into a fully-fledged production artist in his own right.

Welcome to my SoundCloud page, I am a DJ from Newcastle upon Tyne, 

I regularly play Techno, Tech-House, and generally a bit of everything on DJ Techneck's NRG Radio Show every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 

Influences on my sound from the past would be the likes of Carl Cox, Joey Beltram,  DJ Easygroove, and a tonne of others. There are too many to list! 

Modern DJs who influence me are Boys Noize, Mall Grab, Kettama, Sara Landry, T78.
Also, a tonne of DJs and producers on SoundCloud who are big inspirations to my sound.

I've been Djing now for over 30 years, and I love it more than ever. I do this as a hobby now just in my spare time and generally just have fun with it.

I'm not perfect by any means, and I never think I am, I just love all types of electronic music, and i love to bring new sounds to the ears of the listeners. I always have done.
