We need to lift this list of musical martial artists in my pea head opinion. No AI can ever make the love that's made here because AI can't feel for us it can only guess our feelings and that's why all the guesses lack any feelings. We make feelings because controlled feelings take actual intelligence and actual real refections

The Middle Eight of Mach Rider's Main Tune for original 8-bit NES.

Middle 8 is kind of a misnomer it's longer than 8 measures but it's accurate enough as "the part you don't normally hear until you're advanced into something"  As this tune only played if you were at least 8 courses into the game's progression.  When the ruins are replaced by futuristic buildings on the horizon.

Dedicated to all of those who are headed either direction on I-5 into Seattle at around exit 190's ish not really obeying 80 MPH in the left lane.  We know who you are.  A significant fraction of you are humming exactly this portion.

Performed manually without any arpeggiation, from memory.  It's a little glitchy but it's the fondness for it that counts.

Today, as part of our aperiodic Instrumental Hump Day, we’re offering you something a bit different: here’s a preview of a side project we’ve been working on for a few months: a 🕹️Chiptune👾 album (we’ll let you know when it’s coming out, but definitely not before June)!
In this track (and in the others that will follow in this style), our guitarist and especially our lead singer focused on production and mixing, only playing a few notes here and there. ​An original piece written for the Weekly Note Composing Jam #27 with the theme ‘Dark Forest’. For this, I pictured the dark forest being the backdrop for a spooky level in a 16 bit indie game where the level oozes cheesey eeriness. Here we are with our last track of the month.
Lately, Carl @thebeautifuldark has been working on some important projects to raise awareness about the indiscriminate use of AI in the world of art. This track came from deep conversations between us, exploring themes of identity, authenticity, and the growing trend of music that’s “AI-made” but never truly felt or played.

Vacant Stares is a cryptic, cult-like vision of a digital future, where prompters replace creators, and artistic expression is reduced to hollow commands.
Blank stares. Selfish prayers. Fake songs for simulated feelings.
This track is a warning. A question. A reversed ritual.
It asks you: who are you, when you no longer use your own voice?

The song is divided into two parts:

Beating Edge's part:
It’s gothic, cinematic, full of ritualistic and unsettling imagery. The atmosphere evokes abandoned temples, secret cults, carved symbols… with that sense of existential disorientation like “they’re initiating me into something but I don’t know what.”
It feels like a lucid nightmare or a hallucination induced by an intelligence simulating spirituality.
Carl’s part:
More brutal, direct, anti-establishment. Almost a rap/spoken-word poem loaded with accusations towards those who use AI in a sterile, heartless way. “Selfish prayers / Fake / Unfair” hit like punches in the gut in just four words. It’s the awakening from hypnosis.

Let’s reflect! And use AI as a tool to amplify art, not to replace it!

The text prompt for this was just "Fishing Hole"

I went with more of an ambient pad idea for the peacefulness of the activity of fishing like we were doing an early 90's PC game around it as a sport or something.  I remembered the fishing holes in Iceland that Sergeant Smith was smirking and describing as 200 USD a day to get a permit during Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and that influenced my track art choice.
