I see them as though musical Gods I must placate; peering over my shoulders, so I shouldn't upset too many of them at once.                                                                                                                     
                                                                                                                             
     

In my mind, these pieces—my sacrificial offerings—were good enough for their ears, and passed their exacting standards.
