Bedrock Records invites Franky Wah and his signature sound of colossal electronic music for his debut release on the label. The two-tracker EP, “Dopa La Vita / Mandé” kicks off the year for the coveted imprint and ticks off yet another bucket list label release on Franky’s list, landing alongside Anjunadeep, Last Night on Earth, Afterlife, and many more. With “Dopa La Vita / Mandé,” Franky pushes his typically euphoria-drenched sound further underground, with hazy overtones and a deep, rolling bassline that packs a punch. “Dopa La Vita / Mandé” is due for release on January 14th via John Digweed’s Bedrock Records.

“Dopa La Vita / Mandé” shows a different side to Franky Wah’s glossy production style. Having risen through the ranks with his emotional big room melodic house cuts, the Yorkshire native decided to experiment and strip back his sound to deliver a delicious slice of minimal prog. Opener “Dopa La Vita” introduces a deep, sultry bassline that is complemented by an array of vocal chops and sensual murmurs. The nearly 9-minute long endeavor undercuts his usual peaks and valleys, and rather creates an intoxicating stream of warm electronica. The B-side, “Mandé,” takes things deeper, while amping up the melodic flair. The floor-filling track boasts an irresistible percussive line, a faint deep vocal, and a percolating synth, resulting in the perfect combination for late nights and early mornings on a hazy dancefloor. 

"John and I have been in back and forth talks for years about music so this release is something that’s been in the pipeline for a while. I feel like now really is the perfect time for me to release with Bedrock as they’re another bucket list label to tick off my list and they’ve also allowed me to showcase a completely different side to my production. This release showcases a more underground and rolling sound as opposed to having that big room sound that people might now be expecting from me. To be releasing via the label and to have the backing of someone like John really is an honour."

He was also tapped for high-profile remixes and collaborations for and with dance music titans such as Carl Cox, Gorgon City, Lee Foss, Cristoph, and more. Univack presents 'The Road To Wonderland' a 3 originals EP by the Iranian-Canadian artist Ashkan Dian @ashkan-official , commonly known by his stage name Ashkan. He developed a large fan base following his tours in high profile international clubs such as Ministry Of Sounds, Armani Club, and Cirque du soleil. This artist also earned Best Oriental Electronic Music award from Enmoda Magazine in Cyprus in 2017 . His current style is Progressive House & Techno, accompanied by elements and sounds inspired by space that grow at regular intervals. One of the track included in this EP was made in collaboration with the progressive house Canadian artist Dowden @dowdenmusic

Nick Brennan’s Tripswitch journey through electronic music reconvenes in 2018 with his recently launched onedotsixtwo label’s next unique artistic step forward. The platform’s third, highly anticipated release – ‘Voight Kampff’ – is, perhaps, the finest track so far from the occasional, intensely creative collaborative project joining Nick Warren and Tripswitch. This outstanding package is further bolstered with an exceptional set of remix interpretations courtesy of Cid Inc. and Öona Dahl. 

The two Nicks first connected back in 2006, when Warren licensed two Tripswitch tracks for his (now classic) Global Underground ‘GU30 Paris’ compilation. Over time they became good friends, with Warren becoming something of a mentor to Brennan, and with their musical tastes so aligned going right back to the 1980’s, it was inevitable that a studio partnership would develop when the time was right. Having first remixed Joey Fehrenbach ‘Wolves’ (The Soundgarden), their powerful studio chemistry then saw their debut original track ‘Savannah’ appear on Hernan Cattaneo’s ‘Balance presents Sudbeat’ comp, before being released as a single on the Sudbeat label and going on to become one of the hottest progressive releases of 2017. 

Cid Inc.'s music is already embedded deep in the hearts of many electronic music fans. Recent releases on Sudbeat, Lost & Found, Perspectives Digital, the wonderfully esoteric Armadillo label, as well as his own Replug Records, are some of the latest examples of his exceptional craftsmanship. Cid Inc. always looks to compose something that is not only profoundly memorable but also deeply moving, and as such, is a perfect artist to reinterpret ‘Voight Kampff’. The Swedish DJ/Producer with an uncompromising passion to create a contemporary, cutting edge sound, exhibits his inimitable blend of hypnotic house and techno to perfection here. A subtly powerful, intricate percussive groove provides a rock-solid backbone for his ever-evolving layers of electronic wizardry, as the track steadily soars towards an otherworldly state of heavenly bliss.

From the label’s inception, the Showcase collections have been a pivotal part of the Selador release schedule, an opportunity to bring you more new music by a plethora of insanely talented artists. A quick glance at some of the names to have graced previous editions on their way to dancefloor domination (eg Anii, Marc DePulse, Dee Montero, Biesmans, EdOne, Third Son, Robbie Akbal) shows that these collections always achieve that rare feat of marrying quality & quantity.

As 2021 dawns, we bring you The Twelfth Night – and such is the sheer volume of quality tunes we had to select from, we will be celebrating hitting the dozen mark with a double header, featuring 12 choice cuts split over two jam-packed EPs. Nurse, the vaccine right now if you please!

The first instalment gives a taste of the truly global nature of electronic music, with breakout stars from numerous scenes worldwide at the controls. 

At the helm is our very own Dave Seaman, who kicks off the new year with ‘Buzzfuzzle’, a dirty jackin’ house throbber 2021 style, aided by a brain-melting mid-track breakdown.

Next up, Italian duo Ivan Masa and Mattia Pompeo, who already have a string of respected labels and DJ supporters on their CVs, drop their latest offering ‘Tape’ which deftly fuses pulsating moodiness with euphoric interludes. 

Back to the UK, James Harcourt, no stranger to starring for Team Seaman, having previously released on Audio Therapy in the ‘00s, brings us ‘Litoloko’. It’s seven and a half minutes of bouncy, wonky, ethereal madness and we love it. 

We then head over to Israel for prolific DJ & promoter Omer Bar to provide the fourth piece in the jigsaw. ‘Dynamic Cube’ is a seriously taut slice of electronic sophistication.

Next up, a transcontinental meeting of minds as Egyptian born, Vienna based Darksidevinyl teams up with Argentina’s Tomy Wahl for the brooding builder that is ‘Yuande’. 

And last but by no means least, we finish on a high courtesy of London based producer Nichols who provides a rousing finale in the form of ‘Mood Frequency’. 

What a way to start 2021!
