Number 17 (Now On Beatport)(Free Download)

Since the beginning of his career, the name Audio has been a synonym for unmatched power and a colossal presence within the drum & bass community. Competition have crumbled beneath his output, with the producer quickly becoming revered for not only his sound, but for the dark, thematic energy he brought to every live set across the globe.  Whether it’s causing bass-lead devastation at renowned festivals, like the Czech Republic’s Let it Roll, or the darkest corner of notorious London hotspots, there’s no denying one of the genre’s most profound overlords. 

And following the monumental success of his ‘Nil By Mouth’ EP, which saw him rise to an even more prominent position across the cyber world (amassing thousands of streams within days, despite being uploaded onto a brand new Soundcloud account), Audio is making a welcomed return. 

‘Shatterdome’ is stocky, imposing and forcibly holds you in its grasp. One of the most sought after, climatic anthems since it was first premiered within one of his infamous live shows and rinsed from Ibiza to the US by Andy C, ‘Shatterdome’ manipulates cinematic samples and pushes you into an apocalyptic soundscape.  Quaking with every drum roll, it’s a techy thumper which propels you through on steroids. A fresh cut elaborating on the producer’s impeccable standards, this single is undeniably fierce.

Just as intimidating is the double AA side ‘2 Stroke’. A pounding riddim underpinned by a bassline that reverberates through, it’s gradually built upon with a clanking cowbell before breaking into a synth like structure. Demonstrating a complexity which bares its teeth, whilst being indisputably intricate, Audio presents a flipside worthy of its predecessor.
So once again, it’s time for Audio to lay siege on your aural synapses; no other individual does it like the underground overlord.

In ‘Colour Of The Past’ Krakota simultaneously tugs at the heartstrings and hits hard in the face with vocals brought by new finding Karina Ramage. The French-Scottish-English songwriter was a surprise find by label boss Chris Goss as he discovered her busking on London’s South Bank. Another clear highlight is his partnering with our second label boss for ‘Powder Coated’ - the perfect mix of London Elektricity soul and Krakota power.

‘Half Life’ is a reminder back to the massive dancefloor damage caused by ‘Ice Hands’, ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Xylo’ last year. Its gritty split of siren calls and deep bouncing bass hits in all the right places. Krakota's musical edge shows in ‘Elastic’ with funk flare and horns hailing. ‘North Winds’ and ‘Turn of Fate’ blend arcade style synth work with crackles of white noise.

A consistently brilliant producer, Krakota’s carved out his own style over the past few years getting his name noticed on dancefloors around the UK and Europe. He's received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1's Friction and well remembered for his tear out live mix on BBC Radio 1Xtra's Soundclash in 2015. His solitary stance in the drum & bass world has been making waves and that’s sure to continue with his outstanding debut album ‘Strange System’.

COG - The Middle

The night is dark, letting only a trickle of moonlight through a dusty window. The bright glow of a computer screen illuminates his face as he listens to the track for the millionth time. As far as he is concerned, there is only silence outside of the headphones blaring at 120 decibels directly into each side of his head, not thinking of the food going cold beside his broken keyboard. Suddenly, he leans back in his chair and for the first time in days stops the repetitive sounds playing over and over in his head. It's finished. Although he doesn't feel this is his best work, he sleeps, mentally preparing himself to repeat the process again in the morning. There is no perfection in this world of music, only the determination to find it.
