So a few weeks ago, our good buddy Martin sent us a song he wanted us to contribute to. It was a firecracker tune, lead by a trio of Ukes that pull us along at full gallop. Dan loaded the wagon up with more guitars, washboard, triangles, Ngoni, and I stuffed in some wah banjo and wooden percussion. The end result is a nimble tune that ends with tooth and claw. Hope y'all dig it, and hope to do more with Martin in the future.

This song started as a challenge: I found two metal cups in a giveaway box on my street, sampled them and turned them into an instrument I could play. I challenged myself to write a rock song using the sound of the bells instead of the guitar.

Dr Mike Barratt is a NASA astronaut, physician and World Extreme Medicine faculty with a particular interest in adaptive physiology and human performance associated with weightlessness and fractional gravity, along with intersections with other extreme environments.

This lecture took place on Thursday 20 June 2019 at the University of Exeter in the Newman Blue Lecture Theatre, Streatham Campus.
