"I try to get a good look at the pedestrians’ faces. As my eyes focus, their features begin to swirl and dance. Eyes, mouths, noses, all coalesce into one and appear to breathe together. Pale shades of brown and pink turn to neon blues and purples and greens that dribble off their chins and run down their necks like molasses. I wonder if my face is doing the same thing.
