“Fleur de Sel” is the latest composition by Benjamin Shock, inspired by the unique sonic textures of the salt pans, originally recorded by Romana Kačič. The piece draws its creative foundation from Kačič’s exhibition "Sense the Salt Crystal", held at the Herman Pečarič Gallery in Piran.

Presented as part of the SENSE THE SALT CRYSTAL – Images, Sounds and Tastes of the Salt Crystal experience, organized by ABAKKUM Piran during the Piran Salt Festival in April 2025, the project explored the hidden world of sea salt crystals through multiple sensory dimensions. The event featured several thematic video works: Cosmos in Sea Salt Crystal, Life in the Salt Crystal, and Sea Salt Crystals in Space, among others.

Blending elements of Lounge, Deep House, and Dub Techno, “Fleur de Sal” is both atmospheric and rhythmically immersive. Additional piano and sonic textures were later added by composer and producer Denis Beganović – KayKay, further enriching the track’s emotional depth.

The piece also reflects the deep-rooted connection between the people of Piran and their natural surroundings. In this region, salt is more than just a mineral — it symbolizes the sea, labor, family heritage, and the cultural identity of the community. Salt is the light, the sound, and the spirit of Piran.

Benjamin Shock is a multi-producer, best described with a single adjective: versatile. His profession is his passion and his technical knowledge and skills allow him to excel in any kind of genres he decides to tackle. He is open to new connections, loves cooperating with people and further developing his professional path by discovering new abilities. Even though he is passionate about electronic music,  he works with all kinds of music, including house, techno, funk/disco, chill out, hip-hop and is always open to new challenges.
Benjamin Vuković, DJ, multi-record producer and mixing engineer, known as Benjamin Shock, grew up in the Slovenian coastal area. The major rise of the 90s clubbing scene at that time had an important impact on his later sound and creativity. Because of its influence, the French house sound remains one of his major inspirations. Apart from it, his music is also strongly influenced by disco, funk, hip-hop, Detroit techno and Chicago house styles. 
In 1998 he started visiting the local radio station, an opportunity for him to listen to different music genres and study them carefully. He was inspired by the experience and gained a lot of knowledge. This period marked the beginning of Benjamin’s own style of production and mixing.
A year later Benjamin started using turntables, discovering his real passion and revealing his talent for mixing. He began playing house and techno music on a weekly radio show of a local radio station Tartini. It didn't take him long to start producing his own songs. 
He teamed up with his friend, who later became a reputable artist, Gramatik, and the two created various hip-hop and house grooves and finally formed a duo project Fatnatikz based on electro, funk and house music genres. 
In 2012 he attended the BURN Residency DJ Contest, where he won third place and was recognized for his outstanding performance. 
His music style incorporates almost all subgenres of house music from deep, soulful, jackin' house, all the way to techno, electro, disco and lounge. To put it into his own words: “I find it difficult to play or produce only one specific style of dance music. I like to keep my sets dynamic both in clubs and in the studio. I adjust my work to the dance floor crowd and to the vibe in the club.”
His work has been released on the following record labels: King Street Sounds, Lowtemp Music, Guesthouse Music, Neptuun City, Colorecordings, Flapjack and 1st Rate Music. Benjamin made a name for himself as a beatmaker, producer and mixing and mastering engineer on the Slovenian hip-hop scene.
Apart from working globally, Benjamin also supports Slovenian artists. He produced songs for several important pop artists in Slovenia. One of the songs he produced, Anika Horvat's Ruleta, was a finalist in the Slovenian prominent festival Melodije morja in sonca in 2017. He worked with several recognized musicians and singers, one of them Marina Martensson. Their single It's a shame was released on Lowtemp Music by Gramatik. The single was a success – its premiere live performance enriched the fashion show of a Slovene fashion designer Tina Princ on Ljubljana Fashion Week 2017.
Benjamin's work is well-recognized and respected in Slovenia. Currently, he is hosting a radio show called Shockast on the National radio station Radio Koper, which airs every Saturday at 10:30 pm
His plans for the future include further development in his field of profession by connecting with people and creating high quality music. He recently launched his own record label, Watermellow Music, which is focused on delivering quality dance music and pleasantly smooth mellow music. Influenced by Benjamin’s extensive DJ experience and versatility, the sound of the label is rooted in house, techno and lounge vibes. He intends to work with other artists, song writers and remixers and he intends to use the record label to deliver his music to people all around the globe.
