Belle of the Ball is Australian songstress (from The Mercy Bell) Rebecca Boucher Burns' new act, both solo and co-written with Benjamin Burns & Josh Thomson. These lo-fi recordings are a wee taster. Prolific Sydney based indie/folk singer-songwriter Matt Thomson may just bring a tear to your eye with his haunting vocal and guitar-based tunes with influences ranging from Elliot Smith to Leonard Cohen to Fleet Foxes with a touch of alternative rock thrown in. Matt also forms one half of rising folk duo 'Born in October' (debut EP released Feb 2018) with Nundle-based Rachel Webster.   In addition to this, Matt also performs songs that he's co-written with lyricist Eli Desovska. The result is a richly varied collection of original gems, with an indie-folk bent.
