Subliminal is the respected and influential Dance music imprint responsible for bringing cross-over dance hits and underground records to DJs around the world. 

After a short period on ice, the label has returned, stronger than ever and armed with a whole host of new tracks and artists. It’s ready to enter the next chapter of its history through a strategic partnership with label Strictly Rhythm.

Subliminal is famously led by international DJ Erick Morillo, a master of promotion who through his larger than life personality and his passion for dance music has propelled the label ever forward.

Erick is truly unique. As a DJ, producer and chief A&R of his own label. His philosophy is simple; he picks up the records that he knows will cause seismic reactions on his dance floors. “It’s all about signing records that I would play and that would have a big effect on the crowd anywhere in the world”.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England. In particular, DJ mix cds and their packaging were always his 'holy grail of design', especially those from Renaissance, Global Underground and Good Looking Records. Eddie Swales' passion is trance music. 3 years ago he took the plunge and took a keen interest in DJing. 

Eddie Swales has a passion for the classics and a substantial back catalogue, influenced from the Gatecrasher era of the late 90s and early 2000s. His style is diverse and continues to evolve, playing tech, uplifting and vocal trance both classic and current.

Eddie quickly realised from his impressive reach with his mixes and radio shows that he had discovered a raw talent and an outlet for his love for all things trance.

2023 was Eddie’s breakthrough year. Following the success of his online mixes Eddie has gained a loyal and ever-growing fan base which was soon noticed by Scott Bond. Seeing his devotion to the music that fuelled a generation, Eddie was chosen to play a set at the after-party of the Rebooted event in Sheffield.

Following this he has also played at Anomaly’s ASOL, Binary Finary’s Classic Trance event Unified, Reminiscence, The Trance Empire and Club Classics, warming up for AJ Gibson, Lost Witness, Kyau & Albert, The Thrillseekers and Signum. Eddie has also played internationally for Euphoria Weekender in Malta and also One More Time in Ibiza

With his sights set on entering the realms of production in the future, Eddie continues to express his love for our favourite genre via as many avenues as possible.

"Tune selection really is an art and in order to get it right, it requires significant preparation and having the right amount of ingredients. It has always been about the journey. Therefore, variety is required to aid the listeners on their nostalgic fix with a torrent of dancefloor destroyers to those forgotten treasures which were unfortunately overshadowed at the time."
