PAULUM Records proudly continues its journey through the first-ever compilation series with the release of PAULUM011 VOL. 2, out today – August 7, 2025.

Following the warm reception of Volume 1, this second edition brings together four artists with strong ties to the label and the broader international underground scene—each with a deeply personal approach to minimal and house music.

First up is Casimir von Oettingen, also known as CVO and the founder of Paulum Records. With this track, he opens a fresh chapter for the label—bringing a distinctly funky and housy energy to the compilation. While maintaining the minimalistic essence Paulum is known for, this production marks a bold and playful step forward, hinting at a broader sonic horizon for the label. It’s a personal statement, balancing innovation with respect for the roots.

Roni Amitai, a close friend of the label originally from Israel and now based in Detroit, returns with another standout production. Known for her memorable live appearance at the Paulum showcase in Berlin and a string of excellent releases, Roni brings emotional depth and dancefloor functionality in perfect balance.

From Budapest, ZKY makes a welcome return to his roots. Known on Paulum under his alias Solus, where he released a full EP, ZKY reconnects with his original moniker to deliver a track that bridges past and present. It’s a nod to his evolution as an artist, with a sound that remains unmistakably his.

Closing out VOL. 2 is Coco, a Berlin-based DJ and producer with deep roots in the city’s electronic music culture. A long-standing figure in the scene, she is one of the driving forces behind Betriebsfeier at Hoppetosse—arguably Berlin’s most respected event series for minimal house and techno. His contribution to this release carries the energy and elegance he’s known for on and off the decks.

Once again, this volume showcases Paulum's commitment to presenting artists with unique voices, shared values, and a love for sophisticated club music.

Carloh makes his debut outing on Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion with ‘Despierta’, a striking two-track EP set to close out August. Born in Sangolquí, Ecuador, the DJ/producer is widely regarded as one of South America’s key players in the global expansion of house music. Releases on iconic labels such as Desolat, Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, and Serán Bendecidos have helped shape his international reputation, with his blend of percussive rhythms and Andean textures drawing widespread support and chart success. ‘Despierta’ is an extension of that sound, a fusion of folkloric roots and forward-thinking club energy, grounded in percussion, hypnotic vocals, and a deep spiritual undertone. Manchmal ist es eine Frage der Perspektive. Es ist diese alte Geschichte: Wenn du vom Elefanten nur ein Bein wahrnimmst, hältst du es vielleicht für einen Baum. Erst verschiedene Blickwinkel vermitteln einen vollständigen Eindruck.
So ist es auch beim Rahmen. Für die einen bedeutet er Orientierung, Fokus, Sicherheit oder das Regelwerk für ein gutes Spiel. Für die anderen bedeutet ein Rahmen Begrenzung, Einengung, Vorschrift oder ein unangemessenes Narrativ. Beide Perspektiven haben ihre Berechtigung abhängig von Raum, Zeit und beteiligten Personen.
Natürlich sind unterschiedliche Blickwinkel keine alternativen Fakten. Ein Feuer in der Carakum-Wüste ist kein Dattelhain. Jedoch hängt die Bedeutung einer Tatsache von unserer Perspektive ab. Hinter manchen Perspektiven stecken Bedürfnisse. Das ist menschlich. Ich will tanzen, du willst tanzen. Probieren wir es miteinander? Nicht jeder Tritt auf den Fuß ist böse Absicht. Manchmal ist es Ungeschicklichkeit, manchmal sogar lustig und manchmal hast du einfach selbst einen echt wilden Move gemacht. Manchmal ist es ein Weckruf… Wenn wir verlernen, verschiedene Perspektiven zu teilen, sehen wir Bäume, wo Elefanten sind, sehen wir Trennendes, wo Gemeinsamkeiten sind, erfüllen sich Ängste statt unserer Bedürfnisse. Und am Ende sehen wir vielleicht nur Buchstaben, wo eigentlich Meeronauten Musik zu hören ist!
