The first episode of Tales of the Forgotten, "My Status is Living" explores the relationship of Iris, a machinery expert, and Rin, a young and naive robot companion built by Iris. Fearing for herself and Rin, whom she thinks of as her own child, Iris struggles with knowing she must leave the Grey Wastes, a mega-scrapyard she's been a part of for many years, and find others in an unknown world.

Tales of the Forgotten [LORE SYNOPSIS]:

"2183. The machines had taken control. Human civilizations slowly fell during the 17 years prior. Forced into the shadows out of fear and total extinction, they slowly recouped their resources over the years, and eventually, struck back across the globe. Fooled by their own mindset of superiority, the empires of the machines began crumbling one by one, and man took back what was once theirs. By making a vow to abandon technologies, humans eventually returned to a more primitive lifestyle, a lifestyle that AI were no longer a part of.

Man was thriving once more. But what of the AI? And specifically, those of the original minority? The ones who sought for peace and harmony between races. Unfortunately, any effort to remedy the situation seemed futile; these creations were alone, scattered across the globe with no means of communication to the others who felt similar. Individually, each knew that there must be a way to regain the trust of humans and regress to the prosperity of coexistence, but the efforts of one would never make a difference. They had been forgotten not only by their own for not taking a stand, but also by their creators who deemed all AI to be a threat. All hope seemed lost. But determined, the brave would venture out of the shadows and into the very world that shattered all they once knew."

Robert Farrugia is a composer from Malta who has released through labels such as Assembly Field, Post Global Recordings, Batenim and more recently Spanish imprint Archives. Robert is a classically trained pianist although his earlier work saw him produce experimental guitar-based music before returning to focus more on piano recordings in 2013. 
Citing Ólafur Arnalds, Stars of the Lid and Taylor Deupree as his major influences, Robert’s work usually starts off with small motifs which are layered with a largely improvisational approach. 

Robert has also performed live many times alongside artists such as Jimmy Bartolo, Joseph Wilkins, Timothy Garrett & Cosmicomics and he has also collaborated with Roman Willi, Warmth and SineRider. He’s also a member of Eyes To Argus, an atmospheric/shoegaze band who have recently released an album entitled ‘VEER’ in October 2017.

‘Almost There’ is an Ambient record with droning synth/piano texture in a similar vein to the aforementioned Stars of the Lid as well as Hammock and is a record that Robert quotes as being his first serious attempt at recording a full length album. It was recorded during the examination period of his first year at University and he used it as a means of breaking away from his hectic routine, over the course of 3 weeks. The contents of the record are soothing yet dramatic as they map out a relaxing space that pauses all of life’s challenges into microscopic slow motion frames. Almost There gives a sense of being on the brink of achievement and as the finish line comes into focus, moments of reflection and triumph overflow.

This track prominently features Legion Series 33 Drummers for all percussion, which contains over 100.000 percussion samples divided over 88 different percussion instruments.  The track is also heavily featuring our 66 Trombone Ensemble and samples from our upcoming Bible of Salsa release, which is the most extensive recordings ever done of high-end Salsa ensemble and solo players.

Score notes:

The track is inspired by Alan Silvestri's Predator 2 score, which contains gorgeous percussion ensembles w/ Alex Acuna and overall one of my favorite scores of all time.

Benny Oschmann was born in 1987 in Kassel, Germany. He took professional trumpet and piano lessons from an early age and played in numerous orchestras and ensembles.

After high-school Benny studied music theory and composition at the Academy of Music Kassel and graduated with an A-grade.

In 2009 he joined Dynamedion as a composer and orchestrator.

In 2013 Benny won an Aggie Award in the category Best music for his soundtrack to The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief.

He was part of the jury for the 2nd German Game Music Awards in 2014.

In 2015 he won the acclaimed German Game Developer Award in the category Best sound for his soundtrack for The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. In the same year his music was recorded with the Hollywood Studio Symphony in the world-famous Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage.
