London nightclub fabric and its in-house, artist-led label Houndstooth have released a huge, 111-track compilation of previously unreleased music.  #SaveFabric features tracks from Clams Casino, Skream, Machinedrum, Coldcut, Simian Mobile Disco, Clark, Howie B, µ-Ziq, Terry Francis, Mumdance, Caspa & Rusko, Roman Flügel, Route 94, and many other artists who all donated their music.

On 7th September, fabric’s license was revoked forcing the closure of one of the UK’s most important venues and adding to the 50% of clubs closed in London since 2008.  A court date for Fabric’s appeal hearing has been set for 28th November.  With proceeds going towards their ongoing campaign to re-open, purchasing the #SaveFabric Compilation – which costs just £9.99 – is a chance for fans of music, clubs, culture and nightlife to support fabric and Houndstooth.

Jakarta is an unlikely hotbed of dance music talent. Indonesia's capital is host to a treasure trove of parties DJs and producers, it has bought us the likes of Jonathan Kusuma,
Sunmantra and the Dekadenz label boss Aditya Permana.
Dewan Revolusi released on the aforementioned label, is an uncompromising body-music workout full of metallic clangs, deep bass, clicks and pops which sound like bones being trampled on. Distorted samples of speeches and rudely cut off crowd cheers violate the silences between the notes, hiss and percussive hits which fill this peak-time workout with an urgency usually reserved for punk music or a 3 minute nuclear warning. 
The track mirrors the power struggles going on in Jakarta today, and highlights the fact that the ultimate form of protest lies in art.

Sonido Moderna es un colectivo y plataforma de eventos fundada en el 2016 que busca exponer, promover y diseminar a lo que ellos llaman “electrónica de diseñador” en la limitada escena Guatemalteca. Siempre nadando contra-corriente, debido a su orientación sonora; han logrado presentarle a su público muchos exponentes e influencias de la estética que buscan. En conmemoración a este intercambio cultural y su 4to aniversario; el 02 de Noviembre del 2020 finalmente se lanzan a sacar su primer compilado de producciones originales. El compilado busca reforzar los cimientos alternativos del sonido y exponer talentos locales propios del colectivo junto a amigos y colaboradores internacionales de orígenes tan variados como Turquía, Austria, Ucrania, México y Colombia.

El track L Lounge, en palabras del propio Alf Champion: 

"L Lounge es un homenaje a un lugar en el que pase muchas horas de mi infancia… era un cuarto amplio localizado en el patio trasero de la legendaria casa de los abuelos de Mario Russell (uno de mis mejores amigos de siempre) donde pasamos horas jammeando, experimentando, creando y demás. Se vivieron varias fiestas memorables allí, era un lugar apartado de los adultos y con una vibra bastante chill; El lugar fue bautizado como “El Lounge” por Russell y como en todas las historias El Lounge eventualmente llego a su fin. Así que el único recuerdo que nos queda de ese gran lugar esta en esta canción con bajos alocados, ritmos descontrolados y voces con rastros de estupefacientes."

This is an edit I have meant to do for ages but never quite managed to finish in a way that both got me satisfied while respecting the vibe and the 'craziness' of the original track. Then, after quite a lot of work and endless revisions I seem to have nailed it at last.

DDAA is a french indie experimental band that released their first material in 1979.

This particular track is a live version recorded at a venue called l'Ubu in Rennes (France) in 1983 and later distributed on tape. The original tape is really hard to find but you can still listen to it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jD5CBeGrWQ (contrary to what is indicated it is *not* from the "Live at Acapulco" release!)
