Concrock

A duo called Peff. In this track you can hear zany improvised Jazz-like stream of consciousness aural Dadaïsm with some heavy pointillistic playing from Mr. Dobben while Mr. Scheffer's notes are more shapen in a kind of obstructive and cubist mold. A clash of art-ideologies so to speak, but nevertheless corporately performed and taped for their second album which may be released later this year as the successor to the still not released first album.You might think this is strange.......... but in a way that's also kind of Dada logic!!

Ni Dieu, ni maître!!

Upskirt upheaval? Yes, Upskirt upheaval! I am a fervent proponent to upskirt phenomenons as strongly as I am opposed to (for example) monarchies. So I improvised a "bandoneon" solo on Onno's beautiful chords with the intention to project the sound of that instrument back to where it belongs: into the associative realms of hot sensuality and eroticism!!! As a kind of republican antidote to Carel Kraayenhof 's corny and watered down version of Astor Piazzolla's Adiós Nonino which he played in 2002 on public television as a  schmalzy tribute to a just married couple with way too much money on their hands (Mr. Kraayenhof is a very accomplished musician by the way!). Maybe I should have given this little cheerful folky tune the alternative title "Het presidentslied".............but I didn't  because those words don't sound like as if they are reflecting something hot, sensuous, erotic and cheerful for one iota. But at least this composition is really ours and not plagiarized (I hope)

The Beginning Of Time

I play piano, synthesizer and drums. I make my music, mostly alone, sometimes in collaboration with others but I always 
use the name Peff for my musical activities. I just issued my first cd (actually today as I write these words, March the 17th 2013),
a duo album with guitarist Onno Scheffer. It's called "Pleasing the neighbourhood with electrifying Dadaism". If you listen to the
tracks already released here on Soundcloud you will probably get some idea about my/our idiom although stylistic diversity is one 
of my main goals which means music with influences from (Free) Jazz, Avant-prog, Krautrock, Dark Ambient and Western Classical music.
