in his own music blueprint of a long play production for 
those who could believe that.
the disc jockey before had the track playing it for the 
early attendees but we used it to allow the journey to 
take flight thru the nite til very late the next day..

Influences: The people who influence and inspire me the most are honestly the other DJs and producers in my community. FACT Mag once called Seattle a "not-so-obvious rave city" when they spotlighted one of my friend Liv's excellent mixes. I bristle a bit at the characterization of Seattle as this electronic music underdog, because we have so many talented people here. Aside from Liv (Livwutang), some of the other friends who really inspire me to push myself as an artist are Paris Siris, 'nohup' (aka sighup), DJ Gag Reflex (who runs my favorite monthly party, Bloom), Sharlese (who brings out all my love for dark techno, EBM, industrial, and more), Aos, ZXC, Flora FM, CCL (who recently relocated and is touring the world like the baddass that they are), Succubass, Jenn Green, R-Pal, IVVY, DJ Having Sex, DJ Bricks, and honestly too many more to name. Obviously, everyone in TUF (whether or not they make music or DJ), influence me on a creative level to be confident that my voice as an artist matters. Secondnature, Apartment E, Tech Startup, and Open System are collectives comprised of insanely talented DJs and musicians who are throwing some of the best parties in the city. A newer generation of queer folks are also doing really cool things in Seattle (like Queer Dance Affair), and I'm always inspired by those folks. Local labels and distributors like Further Records and Medical Records are literal city treasures, and the people running them are some of the sweetest and most supportive humans. I think on and off about leaving Seattle (as many people do with their hometown), but I also really believe in building community and being proud to represent where you came from, even if it's a "not-so-obvious" hotbed of talent. Subconsciously, maybe it makes us work harder to be seen, but I don't think many of the folks I've named here have any trouble being recognized for the incredible talents that they are due to location. I also think what makes Seattle special (at least within my immediate music community) is the emphasis on resource sharing and mutual support that many people strive for. There is less gatekeeping here than what I hear about in other cities. It's not perfect by any means, but I think people here really do make an effort and that makes it special a special place to live.

Advice for the DJs, artists and producers of our community: Don't be afraid to ask people for help, and be generous with the knowledge and resources you possess yourself. Don't hold yourself to impossibly high standards, especially as someone from a marginalized identity. Don't let one bad gig convince you that you're not meant to do what you're aspiring to accomplish. Find ways to stay grounded, because the music industry can be a draining place (especially for femme/nonbinary/gender non-conforming individuals and POC). Surround yourself with like-minded, supportive folks. Try your best to avoid burnout. Be supportive of the people around you and try to avoid the "why not me?" mentality when your friends experience success. There is no formula for "making it"; do what you do because it brings you joy and gives people a reason to dance.
