Marcu Rares - Lunatique

Leeds based DJ, producer and sound-engineer @MYR-UK prescribes four healthy doses of raw house music for improved wellness. Heavily influenced by early incarnations of deep and acid house as well as contemporary minimal and micro-house; MYR merges traditional analogue techniques with modern digital processes to create a heady cocktail of hard hitting bass-lines, spacey synths and bouncy percussion. From the restrained minimalist aesthetic of the title track to the jacking and up-beat rhythms of "Leaving Planets" this EP is a reminder that they do still sometimes make 'em like they used to.

With the steady, rolling groove of the title track, the jacking beats of "Future Vision and the lush chords of "Lack of Sleep", this crafty collection of eclectic tunes (made in collaboration with fellow South American producer; @Maxi-Exeni) keeps things fresh from beginning to end. The EP is accompanied by two smooth remixes from the always reliable S II P (@skruzdeeda) and label resident, @Nigel-Perera.

A child of the 80’s, Bexu has been awash in electronic music since as far back as he can recall. From deep within the timbered valley of Cluj-Napoca, he has steadfastly been at work in the studio crafting his own sophisticated take on the nascent Romanian minimalism he grew up around. His unique style tends to surprise even seasoned listeners through its delicate, unfolding intricacy poised over powerful functionality, as basslines and synths warble and intertwine through flashes of 90’s synth-wave, casting spells and tantalizing darker, urban moods with his clever use of found-sound samples and percussive hyperplay.
