Hey everyone, I'm so excited to share with you my latest track, "I Hate Love." This song is really special to me because it dives deep into the rollercoaster ride of emotions that come with love. You know that feeling when you're in the middle of winter, but it feels like summertime? That's what this song is all about – the highs and lows, the contradictions, and the chaos that love can bring into our lives.

When I was writing this song, I wanted to capture that feeling of being caught in a hurricane of emotions, yet still chasing butterflies of hope and desire. It's like wanting something so badly, but also feeling afraid of what it might do to you. And sometimes, love can feel like a beautiful, intoxicating rush, while other times, it can leave you feeling completely out of control.

But amidst all the confusion and uncertainty, there's also this undeniable need for love, this craving deep within us that we can't seem to shake. It's like a constant battle between wanting it and pushing it away at the same time.

One night, stranded in LA after a gig with a dead phone and no bus in sight, a stranger offered me a ride. Though hesitant, I trusted my intuition and accepted. They turned out to be kind, sharing life advice that stayed with me. 
The song, inspired by that experience, explores how, even in a world where fear and caution are necessary, we still yearn for connection and trust. It’s a reflection on the beauty of unexpected human bonds, vulnerability, and hope — a message that feels more urgent than ever.
 
The song was co-produced with the late Jesse Colin Young (of the 60s hit Get Together), and was recorded live in the studio with legends Laurence Juber (Grammy-winning guitarist for Paul McCartney's Wings), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), and Jorgen Carlsson (Gov't Mule).

In contemporary literature, ‘kama’ is often used to connote erotic desire and emotional longing, but in ancient Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, this concept is more expansive and broadly refers to any desire, wish, passion, or pleasure, the enjoyment of art and beauty, and even more broadly, love and connection. Kama focuses on this ancient concept and these feelings, which are so essential to being human, while reflecting on how machines, no matter how complex, will ever truly feel and love the way we do and will never truly be able to feel what it is to be human. Kama is a musical call to action in a world where we are in danger of machines replacing us or pulling us further apart, but in which we will ultimately prevail.
