This track is about an experience I had when I was 18 and going to my first "adult" New Year's party with the first verse describing how I got there and the second verse about getting home while the chorus represents the party's mood. I was obsessed with the blue album by WEEZER, Come On Pilgrim by the Pixies, and the first Velvet Underground album.
