Der Text für diesen Track wurde aus einer Schlüsselszene des unveröffentlichten Romans "Hinter uns das Land" übernommen. Er erzählt die rohe, ungefilterte Geschichte der "Heimkehr" einer jungen deutschen Vertriebenen im Jahr 1948 – nicht in ein willkommen heißendes Vaterland, sondern in eine Landschaft aus zerstörten Bahnhöfen, bürokratischer Kälte und dem leisen, herzzerreißenden Moment, in dem ein Lebenstraum durch ein einziges Stück Papier zerstört wird.

My signature sound is acoustic driven songs built on rich three- and four-part harmonies — I move between genres but always stay true to what feels honest. There aren’t many people making this kind of music anymore, but it’s what I love, so I keep it real.  I am a throwback rocker hippy chick just expressing myself and being vulnerable and honest in my lyrics.  The genre I pick for a given song is purely based on my mood.

After years of performing in bands covering Sammy Hagar, The Pretenders, Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy, Tower of Power, Sting, Tom Petty, Steely Dan - to name a few  - I took a long break to focus on family. When life brought me to Sequim, Washington — surrounded by ocean and forest — I found a peace I’d never known. I bought myself a new Johnny Cash Martin guitar and began posting song covers on YouTube that inspired and healed me.

That experience reignited my creativity, and I took the leap into songwriting. I have always written poetry and lyrics but songwriting was a completely new experience for me.  Over the next year and a half I wrote the songs that became my first two albums.

Ghosted: What a Long Estranged Trip It’s Been (July 2025) explores discovery, recovery, and acceptance through painful estrangement.

The Nature of Healing (October 2025) reflects on lessons learned and the restorative power of nature.

I record everything myself in GarageBand — singing all the harmonies, playing acoustic guitar, Roland V-Drums, and percussion.   I am doing this on a shoestring budget but take learning the recording process seriously and appreciate how easy it is to replace a song file here when I fix and refine a song.  

To make the best songs possible,  I use various 
stem tracks for added instrumental assistance when I want more than my guitar and drums.  I sing all vocals. I master my songs using eMastered and score them with Chord.ai.  These are true DIY, “demo-quality” productions — heartfelt and handmade. Someday, I’d love to bring them to life in a full studio setting or even have someone else record them so they can have a bigger audience.

When I perform live, I use a Roland Cube EX amp, my Johnny Cash Martin acoustic-electric guitar, Shure mic and in-ears, and a MacBook Pro running through a Scarlett Solo for backing tracks. Technology makes this solo journey possible, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.  

To Brooklynn, Rylie and Lukas - Forever in my heart.  This is the legacy of love I leave for you.  I used to sing silly songs with you all the time.  Since we have been robbed of a chance to be together since 2019, this is the only way I know how to deal with that loss.  I will never stop hoping to see you again some day.
