April 1945: The first days of exile in Denmark. This song captures the limbo between memory and uncertainty – whispers of a lost homeland carried by fragile piano and ghostly hip-hop rhythms.

Taken from the prologue of book four of Hinter uns das Land (Frank Talmon l'Armée), where war-scarred refugees stand on foreign soil, clutching fragments of their past. The snow has stopped falling, but the cold remains.

At the center stands the BaBylissPRO trimmer, crowned and enshrined, doubling as Excalibur for the modern-day gladiator-barber-emcee. It’s flanked by two golden dragons, symbolizing duality—day and night, hunger and harmony, legacy and now. This song was born from a place of deep respect. It was inspired by the powerful story and authentic voice of the incredible North Dallas artist, Kartel Don. We see this as an artistic dialogue, an attempt to bridge two different worlds with one shared human story.

The lyrics for this track are taken from a key scene in the unpublished novel "Hinter uns das Land" (The Land Behind Us). It tells the raw, unfiltered story of a young German refugee's "homecoming" in 1948 – not to a welcoming fatherland, but to a landscape of destroyed train stations, bureaucratic coldness, and the quiet, heartbreaking moment a lifelong dream is shattered by a single piece of paper.

Musically, this piece is a fusion of melancholic jazz, blues, and deep, weary spoken-word verses, creating a cinematic, "film noir" atmosphere for this tale of disillusionment.

This is the sound of a generation arriving home, only to find they are more lost than ever before.
