Today’s mix is brought to you by hustleroeger, who grew up in the Black Forest area and lived in Erfurt for six years where he studied architecture. Since 2020 his homebase is Leipzig. At the age of 10 he already started to play the drums and learned to play several percussion instruments. When moving to Erfurt, he didn’t want to lose his passion for rhythmic music and bought a controller - that’s how he got into DJing.

With his sound he tries to create a rhythmic harmony from different beat through Breaks, Electro, Ghetto Tech and Trance. hustleroeger played gigs at open airs and venues like Kalif Storch, Kickerkeller, Retronom and Klanggerüst in Erfurt as well as apostrophé crew’s Kegelbahn in Leipzig.

ZENA MIXSERIES NO. 108 – SAM

SAM started stepping out of the shadows rather recently. With monthly guests on her “Whatever Floats Your Boat” show on Callshop Radio she has been introducing a musical vision since the beginning of last year and also showed the more floor oriented side of that vision with her booking for the “II. Reihe sleepless” stage at Tarmac Festival. 

In her own DJ sets she carefully brings together a wide range of laid back styles from different electronica and lately she’s been getting a little housier. This mix is her first released dancefloor-oriented one and offers a taste of the upcoming events where we can hear SAM play.

Might seem a bit obvious that we’re inviting Heckintosh after our last episode with ALBA ACAB, but how could we not?! Before moving to Leipzig she was part of the Kulturverein villaWuller in Trier, where she significantly contributed to give more space and visibility to the diversity of the electronic music scene, by founding the local FLINTA Proberaum. Arriving in Leipzig she quickly connected with the scene by becoming a member of the booking team at mjut club for some time.

Hihat runs the @phonovision party series with his friend, which has been around since 2017. His DJ sets are characterized by their varied selection and high energy - from slow to very high speeds, every style is allowed in his sets. Hihat has only mixed with vinyl since the beginning and is always trying to be one of the most innovative DJs in the scene.

@vanaenae_r 's great love is house music in all its variations, groovy with vocals, especially from the 90s. With various Leipzig projects in the past (Music Of Color) as well as the present (G-Edit, Sunday Love Affair), she strives to shape club culture sustainably for BIPoC and FLINTA*. Vanaenae isn't interested in rigid genres; her music instead serves as bridge between various house subgenres, paying homage to classics and second-hand gems while incorporating contemporary releases. 

For WFYB, she plays records that have accompanied her for some time. Indie rock, her dad's club records that were strange to her when she was 14 and other emotional companions.
