I recorded this synth guitar demo in Toronto whilst recording other things. I forgot the Music, left it behind in GBR. dohhh..
The melody line is consequently not quite that on the 'original' leadsheet. I *was going for 'Pastoral'.
And the first time I had ever used 'ProTools' on my own! Please excuse the messy execution.

This is the ' nobeat ' introductory section of the 'audiobiography' which itself falls neatly into the 'Kiss and Tell' genre. (Only the names have been changed)
The work is 55'.55" total length. All the dialogue is placed, and mostly mixed: There are several 'songs' and an extra added duo "Mirror, Mirror" with June and I acoustic.

There are around 44 musicians so far on the whole thing. I have a few more contributors to organise yet. The Music has now been 'under construction' since 1998

There existed two entire REBELA websites up from 1998 until about 2002. Funded and coded by us this was developed on the MUSART SERVICES site then moved to MUSARTORG.
We have acquired these domains again just recently so it may be possible to re-constitute both sites in their entirety. Certainly the content remains (full musician/track list etc.etc.)

Forward motion on the production on this project has always been hampered by finances, other commitments and time. I can do what I can, when I can, but my pockets are the same as everyone else's.
I hope Canterburian afficionados understand the 'why' of the contributions made by the great 'Canterbury' Musicians to this project. Their generosity means this track is 'free' (out there) at last. -

It was offered for this track to go on to yet another re-issue of 'Linguistic Leprosy', a constant 'drip feed' seller; (It certainly would have been a 'value added' extra on their release).
I always try to be friendly &amp; businesslike (professional) about Music and asked what the expected license fee would be, to start a *conversation.....
To my intense annoyance I was told, exactly this: "Oh, there's no money for you, (or June's family), I have to pay the printers and designers and manufacture the CD"..... I wrote back "Bye".
They seemed surprised, hurt even (sic.) at my reluctance to be happy with their truly insulting remark and *give* them the track. !!!... But then maybe, I'm the problem... NOT!
/me. shakes head in disbelief at this type of Music "biz"....
.
So here it is...
When REBELA has finished with me it will be for sale as a download and inevitably hard copy multimedia one day....
I am eternally grateful to all the Musical contributors and for any dissemination of this Album track.

As you might have gathered, this project is very dear to my heart. It's June's story... Of course it is.
Gilli Smyth, one of her oldest friends, and I were in Chicago, on tour with Gong, the day we heard of June's death in Deia so we were able to comfort each other at least. It was a terrible shock.
I did a screaming solo on my knees during the "Om" song that night at the 'House of Blues' as a tiny dedication to a magnificent, real and intense Artist - <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mark_hewins/6302593124" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">June Campbell-Cramer</a>
