Intricate grooves, dreamy textures, playful whimsical bounce. Over the course of an electronic music obsession more than 20 years strong, Mark Slee has evolved a deep musical style that reflects a unique personality, blending intuition and introspection with a methodical approach to production and curation.

Fully committed to digging the troves of modern dance music, Slee aims to uncover releases that stand out. His monthly mix show on Proton Radio showcases his discoveries, with over 100 mixes presented in the past decade. In 2016, Slee joined forces with musical partner Atish to form the label Manjumasi. Debuting with his own Nocturne Belle EP, Manjumasi celebrates quirky dance music that explores new territory without forgetting the dance floor. Beyond Manjumasi, Slee's original productions and remixes have been released on such imprints as Cityfox, Seven Villas, Kindisch, Everything Will Be OK, Sound Avenue, Lost Diaries, Cosmic Society, Magician On Duty, Nugget, Where the Heart Is, Proton Music, and more. In addition to regular appearances on his San Francisco home turf, Slee's style has earned him DJ sets in notable locales, such as Kater Blau and Sisyphos in Berlin, Cityfox in New York, and Robot Heart.

Since 2016 Slee has also been developing immersive, spatial audio-visual production tools for systems of up to 32 channels via Envelop. Notable live performances with Envelop. include MUTEK.SF and FORM Arcosanti.

Kicking off the Naked Tea Party inside the Dampfer at Sisyphos felt like stepping into a cozy daydream where everyone forgot their clothes but brought their best vibes. 🥹💛
There’s something about this party that stirs the most creative brew. Maybe it’s the freedom, maybe it’s the tea (seriously, good tea), or maybe it’s the booties grooving in perfect harmony. 🍑 Whatever it is, it’s a space where energy doesn’t just flow - it flies.
Translating all those warm and soft bodies into sound pulls me right into storyteller mode. 🤩
Big love to @sisyphos-berlin and @thenakedteaparty (especially Danielle) for welcoming me back with open arms and hearts.
Can’t wait to dive back into the teacup with you all.

Whenever Ben Pundole requests my presence for the opening for one of his new ventures, I pack my bags and show up in high spirits. 

This time it was for the opening of the new 'The Wilde' members clubs in Milano and the after-show celebration of the concert of our dear and beautiful-hearted friend Ry X. An evening of legends in the intimate club house of Milan's newest treasure ; The Wilde.

The musical briefing was "loungey cocktails sexy vibes like your soul", this is my interpretation of that. Thank you Ben, Lauren, Ry and everyone who made this night memorable.

Unsere Nr. 134 kommt heute von einem amerikanischen Künstler, der mich seit 3 Jahren ununterbrochen musikalisch begleitet. Ich erinnere mich noch sehr gut an seine damalige Bunring Man Aufnahme… Sie haute mich schlichtweg um. Seitdem komme ich nicht mehr um Ihn herum. 

Die Rede ist von „Atish“, einem ehrlichen und unkomplizierten Künstler, der keinen geradlinigen Weg ging. Anfangs noch Programmierer für Facebook, entschied er sich vor knapp 10 Jahren selber Musik zu mixen, wie seine unzähligen Mixe belegen. Anders als viele andere Künstler, die gerne ihre so genannte ‚peinliche‘ Anfangszeit verheimlichen möchten, sind bei Ihm tatsächlich noch alle Mixe zum Anhören verfügbar. Dass er damals wie heute seinem Sound gleich geblieben ist, spricht umso mehr für diesen sympathischen Menschen. 

Sein Coming Out hatte er 2012, als er auf dem Robot Heart art-car spielte. Seitdem ging es steil bergauf. Tokio, New York, Istanbul, Berlin,…um nur einige Stationen seines vollgepackten Kalenders zu nennen.

Aber auch in seiner Wahlstadt San Francisco treibt er weiterhin sein Unwesen. Und wie!!! Neben dem etwas anderen Clubformat mit dem Namen ‚Late night tonight!‘, einer Mischung aus Talk-Show und Club Party, gründete er auch das Label ‚Manjumasi‘. 
Und wäre dies nicht schon genug, feilt er in jeder freien Minute an kommenden Releases und Remixen. Tendenz steigend. Sowohl in Qualität, als auch in Quantität. Wir sind gespannt.

Das von Ihm eingespielte Set ist eine herrlich ‚afterhoureske‘ Reise ins Dickicht der melodischen und verträumten elektronischen Musik. Das sich Atish für dieses Set etwas ganz besonderes einfallen lassen hat ist unüberhörbar. Ich war beim ersten Hören des Sets tatsächlich komplett geflasht, hatte ich doch etwas anderes erwartet. Aber diese Überraschungsmomente, die unsere Reihe und die jeweiligen musikalischen Interpretationen immer wieder mit sich bringen, hauen mich, nein uns, immer wieder um. Darauf darf man auch ein wenig Stolz sein. Vor allem wenn man am Ende ein ganz außergewöhnliches Set erhält. So auch hier. Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise durch verspielte, sehr deepe und hypnothische Felder, wie gemacht für eine tanzbare Afterhour sind. Das gabs bei uns schon lange nicht mehr….seid gespannt.

Wir danken Dir vielmals für dieses besondere Set Atish. Umwerfend und überraschend gut. Wenn Unikat, dann Hier. Chapeu.

How hard is it to find a jumbo jet in the middle of the desert? Apparently, very hard indeed. It literally took us an hour of bicycling around deep playa until we spied a colour changing LED in the distance. Having investigated all the illumination in close proximity, we set out until it resolved into the most beautiful fuselage we have ever seen. The long journey had come to an end and after locking our bikes we ascended the jetway mere minutes before our set was scheduled to begin. 

A quick soundcheck later, the laser show died down and we played our first track. Perched high atop the plane we could see individual dancers moving about like ants far below us, and the upper deck filled with friends new and old. In the middle of our set a swarm of drones took to the skies behind us for a light spectacle that we missed completely, no one told us there were beautiful machines swooping through the air behind us, and we kept our eyes on the equipment and the dance floor far below us. 

Still, it was an absolute pleasure to play on the latest iteration of the plane, and we are always impressed by the sheer scale of this aviation achievement. We hope you enjoy our music, we certainly enjoyed playing it. Fly safe out there :)
