This is my conversation with the well known and highly regarded artist Joe McPhee aired originally on 2.3.2021 on my show Something Else on KBGA 89.9FM.

Joe McPhee's powerful volume of work dating over 50 years has inspired and directed many artists and listeners to new ways of hearing and thinking. It is not uncommon to hear of someone recalling their first time listening to Joe's work and identifying that moment as a turning point. His passionate message is the real deal whether it comes out on any saxophone, cornet or valve trombone. 

During this program we explore his music from the beginning of his career up to a few recent releases along with some great biographical anecdotes.
