Vingettes in Wonderland. Daytime pool set that was supposed to be for just a few friends but ended up growing. I wanted to play different vignette's of musical styles/songs I like and connect them. The set intentionally move across genres.

I'm an avid 30 year+ plus fan of electronic music but only in the last few months have started tinkering with my husband's DJ equipment. This set starts with an old track we have on vinyl from the epic Hooj Choons label. I am definitely still learning how/when to mix (refusing to use autosync and mixed in key) and each new recording I am learning all the things I still haven't even come close to mastering (but my husband data.source can do in sleep on 1200's) but my motto: don't care, still having fun.

Granted Wish

Continuing to learn the craft and let's be clear I post these so I can listen to the while I work.  Most of the songs are in the UKG family which I love this genre because it has drum and bass (liquid)vibes and tends to have great old house and R&B samples. This is definitely on the mellow end of UKG and I lean towards seeking out songs that have have a house vibe and  other samples/edits of my youth.

Future Garage

Recorded this one for the drive to lovely Buena Vista, CO to witness a few dear friends tie the knot. On my continued quest to learn the craft o-djing on the rotary mixer and CDJ's.  Month 4 of the new hobby. 

This vibe is House. A little house, latin house, afro house, hip-hop vibes -- all my favorite flavors of house. 

Each time I tinker and record, I learn a bit more about what NOT to do and what is working.

Casa de Amor

Ok this one has old and new sounds and a dash-o-edits: breaks + prog house + techno. 

It was around 1995 and I was at a Funky Techno Tribe party and one of the dj's played a remix of Sweet Dreams and this giant room erupted into elation. It was one the most epic moments of the now 3 decades of parties I've attended. The edit I found on this set is not the same but it makes me think about that moment, that party, and one of my dearest friends I met at that party.  The last song is also a classic likely with a deeper meaning if you grew up in northern CA where Dubtribe used to often play at small dive bars in the 90's. Some songs are timeless and for me Mother Earth is one of those songs.

Beeps and Boops

well it's -9F (-22 C) here in Colorado may as well record a new set! This one ranges from melodic house and techno to progressive house... which frankly in the 90's I would have just called it all progressive trance. 

There is an edit of Quench's Dreams, which in 1993 I begged my husband by the record. I loved it then and love the updated edit. It's also the first time I've integrated in one of data.source's song's, Sunburst, at 32:00. This song blew my mind on New Year's Eve.

My first love in electronic music is drum and bass. My fave used to be called Atmospheric drum and bass then it morphed to Liquid and now its all back in the general pile of drum and bass. My love dates back to the 90's when I'd go back to the tiny room in the back of record stores to find the latest Good Looking record to throw into the pile of records my man was buying. This set has a few minor subgenres all with a soulful or hip hop vibe.

Bass in My Veins

A set designed to cover the range of styles of the 16 phenomenal, powerful, loving coven I am honored to a part of 🙏🏼 We danced, laughed, and danced throughout this 3+ hour set. So much fun!!!!

I am tinkering with my husand's CDJ's, rotary mixer and turntables. He's the DJ (data.source) in the house and a budding producer too. I used to DJ records in the 90's and decided to start playing music I like to record sets I can listen to while working. 
My first love is atmospheric (liquid) drum and bass but I love tunes in many genres. All the reposts are of friends or strangers that inspire me.
