His connection to rave culture runs deep—it's where he’s found some of his life’s most genuine connections and unforgettable moments. His sets are crafted to surprise and delight, offering a playful escape from the seriousness of everyday life.

The grand inflatable installation which features as the backdrop, was developed exclusively for the shoot by @fredriktjaerandsen. Crafted out of latex, the sculpture is given extra depth and dimensions by lighting engineer @jamie_anker.

@club_are have been taking the London nightlife scene by storm, with each event topping the last. Their ways of blending progressive sounds with a focus on art to create a unique immersive clubbing experience has the people coming back for more.

As a queer Tunisian DJ, producer and community organizer, https://soundcloud.com/alias-shay journey led them to the Ruhr area by chance after migrating to Germany in 2016. They are deeply embedded in the electronic music scene, viewing it as inherently political and are dedicated to creating spaces for the SWANA community. This set is a high-energy mix of diverse bass sounds, strongly shaped by their deep connection to their culture and roots. Each track was thoughtfully selected with a cold Celtia in hand.

For Volume 17 of our mix series we are proud to present Native Boundaries artists, Fleksor. Bjorn is inspired in equal parts by the frenetic culture-jamming of 2010’s club music, and the highly curated psychedelia of Seattle’s all-night techno parties. 

Fleksor creates club-ready tracks with an ear for texture and syncopation. He is a long time contributor to the 320 RIP compilation series, with past releases on Main Course Records, Snø Recordings and Knightwerk among others. “I had fun pulling from my 2010s club music crates on this one from around when I first was playing out, and blending that with more recent bass music and electro”

The sets of Alias Shay resist categorization, refusing to conform to any one genre.They are a dynamic fusion of sounds, weaving together the emotions of Raï, the trance of Tunisian Mezwed, the energy of breaks and bass, the joy and nostalgia of Arabic pop, and even the experimental edge of deconstructed sounds. Every performance invites the audience to experience a multi-layered sonic narrative,inspired by rhythms and stories passed down through generations, yet always forward-thinking in its approach.

Just a headsup: I got a bit too excited at times and I clipped the recording but in my defense, if Raï isn’t redlining, I don’t want it.

THF Radio hosted Queens Against Borders (QAB) on the station for the first time. In previous years QAB has established artists, platforming trans and queer refugees/immigrants that has brought a strong voice of visibility Center Stage.

For the first show, QAB invited Tunisian DJ, producer, and community organizer, @alias-shay. 

This show was broadcast as part of Refugee Week on Air 2025, an international radio programme dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of musicians, activists, and creators from refugee backgrounds around the world. Through the medium of radio and audio, our collective power has the potential to inspire hope, build bridges across borders, and shape our shared futures. @refugeeweekuk
