Songwriter, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. His first credits were with The Roots' Game Theory (2006), for which he co-produced the title track, "Livin' in a New World," and "Clock with No Hands." Khari has continued contributing to Roots (Rising Down and Undun), Jill Scott, J*Davey, and Money Making Jam Boys, among others. After scoring the Sundance series Brick City and HBO Documentary Prayer For A Perfect Season, he released his debut, Wait for Sunrise, through his label, The Lunchroom. Soul Train named it one of 2012's best releases. Mateen’s also a member of Elevator Fight.

TV Control Center, also known as KET, is an intimate creative space dedicated to performing arts, experimental music and documentary.
It is located in Kypseli, a diverse urban neighbourhood of Athens.
It was founded in May 2012 by Fotini Banou and Dimitris Alexakis at a place that used to operate as an old TV repair shop. Angeliki Karampela joined the team in November 2015.
The dimensions of the space — a high ceiling semi-basement which can host from 50 to 100 people — and the fact that it is not organized as a traditional theater or concert hall make it a space for creative exchanges and sharing rather than simple cultural consumption.
As a multidisciplinary space, it welcomes from October to June a wide range of events: theatrical & dance performances, experimental concerts, workshops, public debates with health workers or LGBTQI activists.
Since its opening, KET has received no financial support from the Greek State and voluntarily stands at a distance from the big private foundations. Its main source of revenue is based on a box-office split with the artists.
