Ken Pye FRSA is a Fellow of Liverpool Hope University and of The Royal Society of Arts.
A Liverpudlian born and bred he is immensely proud of his City and its people, and of their history and heritage, and this is reflected in his work as an historian, broadcaster, lecturer, and author.
Ken has written eleven books about Liverpool and its City Region, six of which are still available and popular in book shops. He has also produced sets of local history factsheets, and four volumes of audio CDs, entitled ‘Curious Characters and Tales of Merseyside’, which are available via Ken’s website.
Soon to be also available in shops, and via download, is Ken’s 3rd edition of his acclaimed DVD series of eight themed documentaries about the history of Liverpool ~ ‘Discover Liverpool’.

Birkenhead, UK-based producer and lofi hip hop newcomer MUNKEY JUNKEY (aka Kurran Karbal) is excited to announce that his debut album Bitter Chitta will be released on 18th June 2021.

Born in New York, and of Indian and British descent, Karbal’s international sound takes inspiration from the geography of his life, including periods spent in the UK, Abu Dhabi, India, and Switzerland.

Taking the Munkey Junkey moniker from our animalistic impulses and primate origins that Karbal sees humanity as not being all that far past, he began to release music under the project back in 2019 with two singles—‘Look Out Below’ and ‘Cut Me Off’—and debut EP Going Pro At Letting Go, followed by 2020 standalone single ‘Reverse’ and three track sophomore EP Numbness, most recently co-writing and producing two songs for the hit Cartoon Network animation Adventure Time.

Playtime Records is an independent recording company founded in Manchester, 1988.  We are currently making most of our catalogue available during 2013  along with unreleased material and a number of compilations.

Playtime was fortunate to be a part of a thriving Manchester music scene in the late 80's and early 90's, releasing records by bands including New Fast Automatic Daffodils, Inspiral Carpets, the Rainkings and Molly Half Head. In 1994, the label relocated to London where for another three years it continued to develop artists from Manchester and beyond. These included Bandit Queen, tc hug and Elliot Green.

We have no immediate plans for signing any new artists but you never know....... we still love hearing new music....so get in touch.
