It all started somewhere between the Mediterranean and Red Sea. It’s the ‘black land’ of Egypt, where the story of Aly & Fila came to life. 5000 years of genesis – including its world-famous pharaohs, pyramids and ancient civilization – later, another thing became part of its culture. Pure trance music, from the hands of Aly Amr Fathalah and Fadi Wassef Naguib.

For Aly & Fila, things really kicked off in 2003, when their ‘Eye of Horus’ turned into a big club hit, played out by all trance-minded A-list DJ’s. It would soon be clear that the Egyptian producers were much more than a one-hit wonder. In the years following, Aly & Fila released a slew of club-scorching, chart-hitting trance tracks and remixes, of which ‘Spirit of Ka’, ‘Ankh – Breath of Life’ and ‘Lost Language’ managed to put millions of trance fans into a frenzy. Outside the studio, Aly & Fila became known for their all round appeal to audiences around the globe. All the energy of their gigs at major festivals, nightclubs and events came together in the 2009 DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, where Aly & Fila climbed all the way to the 22nd position. To Aly & Fila however, their journey in music is about more than just popularity. Clear evidence of that, is their very own ‘Future Sound of Egypt’ label, part of Armada Music. The label is set up to release high quality trance by some of the world’s most talented and passionate producers.

Aly & Fila feel right at home in that group. Their debut album ‘Rising Sun’, is the result of their life-long passion for the trance genre and all its treasures. On ‘Rising Sun’, the guys join forces with talented vocalists and producers such as Tiff Lacey, Sue McLaren, Josie, Denise Rivera, Philippe El Sisi, Bjorn Akesson and many more. The characteristic sound of Aly & Fila, uplifting and euphoric trance, is represented in all tracks of debut album ‘Rising Sun’, bringing you one disk of pure energy.

The Bearded Man was just 10 years old when he started his first vineyard. Not only did they say he was crazy, they couldn’t believe he could even lift the materials needed to get going. Still, this was Southern France in the 1800s, so nobody seemed to care all that much about what he was doing. Day by day, he got the supplies needed and built himself a small vineyard. He made sure that he didn’t drink the wine he produced, since he considered himself to be underage. He’d bring over some local adults he trusted, and they’d guide his process until he made wine that was acceptable. He got pretty good at it, and before long, his wine was selling decently at local shops. It continued that way for the next several years. When people asked what kept him going, he said: “every night as I went to bed, I told myself - ‘just one more night of darkness’”, and kept his vision for his life plan in his mind. His vineyard would someday impress the girl of his dreams (which it did), and that was motivation enough for him. When he finally turned 18, he tasted his own one wine for the very first time. “Rancid garbage!!” He yelled, and burned it to the ground then and there.

Serbian sensation Vintage & Morelli, a.k.a. Marko Cubric, is experiencing a breakthrough year, on account of a variety of celebrated, top-charting albums and singles on our imprint, as well the mighty Anjunabeats. We’re thrilled to present the second single, “Sweet Surrender,” from his debut artist album, “My Rose Enchanted Destiny.” Featuring a poignant performance by rising American singer-songwriter Arielle Maren, the song evolves from a deep and moody chilled house cut to a peak-hour, trance-influenced stormer. To celebrate Marko & Arielle’s timeless composition, we’ve recruited internationally acclaimed label residents Gregory Esayan and LTN to contribute their own interpretations, both of which are extraordinary.

Russian phenom Gregory Esayan, fresh off the release of his second artist album (“Pilgrim’s Diary”), delivers a euphoric progressive trance rendering. In the early going, balearic guitar and ethereal pads join Arielle’s emotive vocal to create a mellifluous soundscape. Later on, an extended breakdown features breathtaking variations on Vintage & Morelli’s original themes. This is a triumphant composition and truly one of Gregory’s most impressive musical achievements to date.

What (you ask yourselves!) could possibly equal the just-released wattage of Jerome Isma-Ae’s remix of the summer-celebrating ‘Nana’!? 

Well, you may be looking at the answer to that question right now. On the form of his life this year, Orkidea has taken his ‘Harmonia’ fan-fave back into the studio and built the track up into an Extended Mix floor conquistador! If that wasn’t enough, in a perfect piece of remix symmetry, Gai Barone has developed ‘Nana’ on a different axis, drawing it outwards and turning it into a liquid cool, trance-progressive expedition. 

On his Extended version, Orkidea amplifies each and every one of ‘Nana’s key elements. Its Batacada drums march tougher and the percussion grooves harder, while the bass dives to yet more sonorous depths. Contrasting brilliantly, its epic synth uplift sweeps the length of the drop, before its looped, spirited vocal chant is freed to extraordinary effect. 

On his interpretation, Gai Barone applies a completely different production vista to ‘Nana’. Over it’s near 9-minute runtime, the Italian reimagines the track as a trance progressive piece, built for deep club-floor immersion. Packed with slow-release riffs and hypnotizing sequences, in the drop it filters and vocoders the chant, backing it with seraphim female harmonies.

Completing the extensive remix package of Lifecycle which included the Foundation Rework on Pure Trance Progressive and Amir Hussain’s slamming rework of this seminal classic from 2007, we have a remastered and rebooted version of the Original Mix, sonically revamped for 2016 and also Finland’s Jussi Paasonen a.k.a. Simon Templar has given the track a lush remix which takes it into deeper hypnotic territory.

Canadian producer Dezza makes a return to the Colorize imprint with a beautifully deep 2-track EP 'Need U / Pure Love'.

Becoming increasingly prevalent within the Deep/Progressive scene's thanks to a number of stellar releases, Dezza brings his sublime, atmospheric sound back to Colorize. Opening with 'Need U', Dezza forms remarkable depth around a rippling, cosmic lead and drifting vocals to create an incredibly warm groover to open the EP.

Closing the EP with 'Pure Love' Dezza crafts an equally atmospheric journey filled with cavernous synth leads, cosmic FX and crisp pads in a effortlessly grooving finale to an overall superbly polished EP.

German producer Matthias Vogt has deservedly attracted widespread support throughout his career - known for his signature electronic productions as well as being an accomplished jazz musician. ‘Matters’ is an upbeat vocal groover, showcasing this diverse musicality. Matthias’ original receives the remix treatment from two of the scenes brightest talents with a pair of fresh club-ready cuts and an alternative mix rounding off the package.

Purveyor of the underground and Anjunadeep fan favourite, Tom Middleton, boasts an enviable back catalog spanning over the past two decades including reworks of Kerri Chandler, Orbital, Ennio Morricone, Jon Hopkins to name a few. A trusted and consistent producer, Middleton steps up to the plate offering a hallmark melodic rework, injecting an upbeat rolling bassline to the mix alongside textured soundscapes and deft vocal chops.

Next up we welcome Spanish producer and musical innovator Aitor Etxebarria aka El_Txef_A for his Anjunadeep debut. With past releases on the respected labels Permanent Vacation and Hypercolor as well as on his own Fiakun imprint, Aitor has garnered wide spread praise for his forward thinking and complex sound. The first of his two EP contributions, his ‘Cosmic Dub’ a spacey melodic gem awash with soaring synths amidst a laid-back retro groove. Secondly, the genre bending ‘Live From The Elephant Room’ remix (named after the infamous Texan jazz club), El_Txef_A offers a clever and unique take on the original with the addition of percussive jazz elements and warbling rifts.

Solarstone’s Pure Trance movement has helped redefine the trance landscape since it’s inception in 2012. Pure Trance Progressive is it’s latest expansion – focusing on promoting the resurging deeper, slower side of the Pure Trance sound. 

PTP008. Glaswegian Nick Callaghan has been releasing a steady stream of polished and sophisticated trance records since 2008, most recently on labels like Damaged, Monster and Kearnage and his DJ sets are renowned for their combination of trance, techno and psy. He does, however, also have a deeper more progressive side to his sound, which he explores here on the 125bpm Since 83 - an immersive production that fuses hypnotic samples and sequencer lines, ethereal vocal snatches and pounding percussion.
