-	Shell-shocked by a compilation of Chicago House that his elder brother gave him, music pupil Roman from Darmstadt became interested in electronic music.
-	Visits to Sven Väth’s Omen in Frankfurt and nights spent with Underground Resistance or Warp turned his whole world upside down. LFO’s bass still massages his stomach region to this very day.
-	The first demo tape is given to Jörn Elling Wuttke, who is thrilled and leaves his others bands to join forces in a project with Roman.
-	Together they pay a visit to Ata and Heiko MSO. The latter work as DJs and sellers in Frankfurt’s Delirium and can hardly believe their ears. They are delighted to set their A&amp;R activities (Ongaku, Klang) in motion.
-	For Holy Garage “Surprise”, which also appeared on Eye Q, they found the Playhouse label, later to become the flagship of the label triumvirate and one of the most influential labels in Germany.
-	Time flies in the nineties with working on the label and the success of the projects Alter Ego and Sensorama. Roman also does solo projects under the name Soylent Green, Eight Miles High, Ro 70, Roman IV and his real name. The spectrum ranges from nosebleed techno to delicate ambient and electro-pop tunes.
-	Sven Väth asks Alter Ego to be his producer.
-	Remixes for Daft Punk, Radio Slave, Primal Scream, Ricardo Villalobos, The Human League, Spektrum, Tiefschwarz, Baby Ford, Chicks On Speed, and many others.
-	Alter Ego beats all the records with “Rocker” and Roman provides a worthy successor with “Geht’s Noch!?”.
-	Live appearances all over the world and Roman becomes increasingly popular as a DJ. His sets comprise 20 years of rave in one breath of techno, house, Italo-disco and obscurities. It goes by the name of acid house.

MONOTON:audio is a German-based techno label founded in 2013 by Michael Kruck and Hierro. For years both were resident DJs at the Fusion Club in Muenster, one of Germany's most famous electronic music clubs. The label embodies deep, dark, bassy techno with an atmospheric and straight forward sound.

We have an extreme focus on releasing distinctive, fresh music. We are interested in above the norm techno with that certain something that makes it stand out from the rest.

We honestly believe in our producers. As an outstanding artist backed by a professionally controlled label, we not only promote their releases but support their success.

Many times, biographies of techno acts start by singing their praise of an extremely early,
extraordinary talent on synthesizers and other electronic devices.

In Heron’s case, things are different. Because Martin Spittel has been shaped musically since his childhood, the influences were as diverse as music can be.

On one side, there was his grandfather, who played various instruments, and to whom young Martin related closest to and whose influence still lasts until today. On the other side there were his cousins who were not much older than himself, enthusiastic about AC/DC, and band members themselves. Over the course of the following years, he explored the diversity of Black, Death and Trash Metal, EBM and Industrial, right up to Detroit Techno.

Ever since then, Heron's environment served as compensation to ferce parties and expanding his musical horizon. This symbiosis from the love of nature and the musical influences from his early childhood are a direct reflection of Heron’s entire life.

Following the scream of the waders (limicoline birds), he moved to picturesque island Norderney in 2003. There, exploring the island’s national park, he decided to live up to his enthusiasm about nature by going to study landscape ecology at the University of Münster. It turned out: The relocation to Münster was the initial spark for his career; the months in Norderney were inspiration for the name of his label “Limikola” which was founded in late 2008 and enjoyed enormous support by both DJs and fans.

After launching his now very successful °Schaltkreis-parties with four friends in mid-2007, everything went quickly: His first own radio show “The Grasshopper Warbler”, contacts to prominent players like Someone Else and Heartthrob, and finally the moment in early 2008 during the season’s opening at Time Warp, when Richie Hawtin played all three tracks from Heron’s Retro EP. It was merely his second EP, released on a netlabel (Minisome), and it became immediately successful. A knightly accolade.

The journey that Heron started lead to his bombshell track “Welcome to the Adventure Club” that charted in the Beatport charts in 2008, and continued with remixes and releases for Synewave, Supdub, Swap, micro.fon, Prosthetic Pressings and Sleaze Records. In 2010, it culminated with a tour across North America during the summer.

Two years later he released his very first EP on the legendary Detroit label KMS Records, owned by Kevin Saunderson, followed by remixes for Drumcomplex, P-Ben and Chris Gekä, one collaboration project with Inner City's Ann Saunderson and his second solo release „Ride The Pride“. Furthermore he made the step into the Soma family by publishing three solo EPs and an EP with Kevin's son Dantiez Saunderson, as well as he started to release on Florian Meindl's FLASH Recordings.

In the beginning there was Black!
Ein ganz normaler verregneter Morgen im Januar 1989 an dem der junge 
Black Plant alias Kristoffer Helmes das Licht der Welt erblickt. Schon früh machte 
er durch seinen musikbegeisterten Vater, der bekennender Fan von 
Bands wie Kraftwerk & Depeche Mode ist, Erfahrung mit elektronischen Klängen.
 
And Black had a groove!
Als Stammgast in den einschlägig bekannten Clubs verbringt er Wochenende
für Wochenende damit, elektronische Musik zu leben. Sein Wunsch, mit
seiner über viele Jahre gesammelten Plattensammlung auch selbst einmal die
Leute zum feiern zu bringen, rückt durch stetig wachsende Bekanntschaften
immer näher. Im Sommer 2006 macht er schliesslich die ersten Erfahrungen
als DJ. Gemeinsam mit einem langjährigen Freund bestreitet er seine ersten
Auftritte vor einem öffentlichen Publikum.
 
Black boldly declared...Let there be Techno!
Sein Sound ist von Beginn an kompromisslos. Techno in seiner reinsten
Form. Geradlinig und ohne Schnörkel. Rechts oder links gibt es für ihn
nicht. Die Route geht stets vorwärts: Hochkarätige, ehrliche Musik. Im
Jahr 2011 gewinnt er mehrere Male den DJ-Contest im renommierten
Wuppertaler  Butan Club, was seinen regionalen Bekanntheitsgrad deutlich
steigert.  In dieser Zeit beschäftigt er sich parallel damit, eigene
Tracks zu produzieren um seinen Sets noch mehr Persönlichkeit zu
verpassen. Im Sommer 2012 wird Black Plant schliesslich Teil der
Düsseldorfer Techno League Crew und kann aktuell bereits auf eine Menge
toller DJ-Gigs zurückblicken.
