■Rhythm Boxing – Double Half Double EP vol.2について
渋谷で開催されているパーティを母体とするレーベル“Double Half Double”が贈るレーベルコンピレーションEPの第2弾。今回は東京近辺のアンダーグラウンドシーンで活躍しているDJによる、Double Half Doubleのコンセプトである倍速・半速の組み合わせのおもしろさを存分に詰め込んだ6曲を収録。

■Double Half Doubleについて
2017年より東京・渋谷のDimensionにてパーティを開催。Double(倍速)とHalf(半速)を組み合わせてグルーブを紡いでいく音楽を、直線的な音楽やジャンルで固定されたパーティに対するアンチテーゼとして理想に掲げる。
2018年にレギュラーで参加しているDJを中心とするレーベルコンピレーションEP第1弾をリリース。2020年にはより幅広いDJ/トラックメイカーが参加するレーベルコンピレーション第2弾“Rhythm Boxing”をリリース。

■About Rhythm Boxing – Double Half Double EP vol.2
Double Half Double is a record label based in Tokyo, Japan. We started club nights in 2017, in a bar called Dimension at Shibuya. We released our first E.P. in 2018 which features tracks by resident DJs Gunhead, HALU, NullDaSensei, maidable and KNKwalks. Our type of music is expressed in our name itself. We like non-ordinary types of rhythms and like to mix up double, half and double beats.
 “Rhythm Boxing” is our 2nd EP. This time we focused on gathering tracks which represents our view of music from Tokyo’s finest underground DJs. With these 6 bangers, we once again declare our music to Tokyo’s music scene and to the world.

"'UNTD004'sees United’s discography continue to grow as Moscow’s Trizna releases his EP 'Raid', a fusion of sounds at 140bpm, creating what Trizna describes as 'Primal Grime'. The sounds employed by Trizna in this project could at once be described as both minimalist and industrial, creating a dark atmosphere with a somewhat sense of disjoint. 

"The tracks, ‘Raid’, ‘One Step’, ‘Splinter’, ‘Upyr’ and ‘Edge’, all sound very much unique. Some taking on a more breaks-like feel due to their sample selection, without compromising their integrity as ‘Grime,’ music, and some, like ‘Edge,’ tending much more towards a Dubstep-based sound on account of the drum structure. Nevertheless, there is an undeniable sonic continuity between the tracks, and whilst Spacesurfer and Хандра (Handra) are other aliases under which Trizna produces music, the Trizna project gives an inescapable nod to Old-School Grime.

"The artwork for this EP is a medieval engraving of siege the Polotsk by Moscow Army. This engraving was made by unnamed Europeans who had never seen either the Polotsk or the Russians. This potentially makes for interesting symbolism as to how the Russian Grime contingent views its impact on the genre."
