Final Fantasy XI - Gustaberg Orchestra

Hello everyone! It's been a while. I'm happy to share with you my latest project, The Shimmering.  The Shimmering is an album that is dedicated and serves as a tribute to the old-school RPG Ahriman's Prophecy, developed by Aveyond Studios (formerly Amaranth Games) and released on March 7, 2004. It's a game I rather enjoyed back in my childhood  years and I always wanted to compose some music inspired by it. In this album I'm I am returning to my foundational pursuits in the composition of ambient music. It contains shorter dreamy tracks with more emphasis on atmospheric ambience. Enjoy~

01 Owlboy Main Title

This is a track dedicated to a friend who helped me out during a very low point, and basically saved my music career from going into a coma.  The last few months of writing wouldn't have been possible without the push, I can't thank you enough man :)

With this track, I wanted to try an orchestral arrangement that was more flowing and sweeping, something I hadn't done before.  The original is so mournful and yet resolute, and I really wanted to capture that.  Still learning, but the departure from the rest of the music I've been writing lately was extremely cathartic.

Admission: I haven't actually ever played Dark Souls haha.  If you're a fan and want to chime in on how it fits the vibe of the original track, please don't hesitate!  I'd love to know where it stands.  Hope you enjoy!

This is a live recording on piano of the battle music from Phase 2 of the epic fight against Amatsumagatsuchi. I love Amatsu's theme it really reflects how it is a storm dragon always changing, from the  dramatic opening to the quiet motifs in the middle.

Here comes the amazing theme of the undead looking Elder dragon Vaal Hazak. I loved learning the chords for this theme. It took a lot of time to get the piece the correct speed because although it looks like I'm moving quickly, the tempo was slower than I first thought.
