As suggested to me by AlmightyArceus, here is a remix of Primal Dialga's theme from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2. I like em. As usual it doesn't stick to the plan all the way through, but it's still recognisable I hope.

One of my two submissions to the <a href="http://homestuckgaiden.bandcamp.com/album/land-of-fans-and-music-unofficial-album">Land of Fans and Music album</a>, an unofficial compilation of fanmusic created within the Homestuck fandom. The other submission was <a href="http://soundcloud.com/konec0/megadancevania">MeGaDanceVaNia</a>.

This was not only the first track on the album, but really the only track that was specifically composed for the album. Or remixed, rather. The initiator of the project, OJ, requested for a remix to be done of MK_97's "Homestuck Title Screen," while incorporating more motifs from the comic. I took up that request, and churned this out.

This song was basically a nostalgia bomb for me; I just had to think back to the days of playing SNES-era RPGs, and what I thought a title screen tune should sound like. Chrono Trigger's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F__DAx9NYsg">title screen tune</a>, in particular, was a big influence, as was the simple "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g25QXnhVijQ">Dearly Beloved</a>" from Kingdom Hearts. The chiptune aesthetic certainly helped!

Beginnings -Press Start to Play-

An orchestrated version of the Megaman 2 intro and theme. I guess this also technically counts as an orchestration of the ending theme from the first Megaman, since they're the same. I composed lots of new bits all over the place on this piece, though it keeps quite true to the original - I just orchestrated it and composed accompaniment.

Megaman 2 Intro Orchestra

An orchestration of the Metroid music Kraid's Lair. This one really stood out to me as an awesome track for the middle part. As with my last Metroid piece, there's also little synthy bits to it to give it a retro touch.

Metroid - Kraid's Lair Orchestra

This is my third song, and once again it is a dubstep track. The main melody in this song is from Megaman 2 - Wily Stage 1&2 and I remade it into dubstep. Please leave comment telling me what you think about it, and if you would like to hear more music like this. Megaman (Dubstep Remake)

A quick remake of the Zelda Skyward Sword theme from scratch - Mostly to practice with instruments and otherly because it's a badass theme. I added a little touch of me and some choir, but I'll maybe reapproach this once it's out and put in a little more dummy-ness.

Some random facts:

• I've never played this backwards to know if the rumours are true. I'll investigate more soon.
• The sample libraries in this piece total up to about 2tb disk space and 23gb memory.
• I had to make it in 4 seperate parts and combine the rendered down wav files.
• It took around 3 hours from start to finish. A little longer than usual because the original piece is fully orchestrated.

An orchestral cover of Dragon Roost Island from Zelda The Wind Waker. It might be a little too epic and bombastic to fit the theme and it loses the windy-feel of the original, but that's just how it turned out.

Through the Seventh Gate ~Land of Wind and Shade~ is the first track from the <a href="http://soundcloud.com/konec0/sets/7th-gate-project">7th Gate Project</a>.

Although many seem to prefer <a href="http://soundcloud.com/konec0/through-the-seventh-gate-lofaf">Land of Frost and Frogs</a> more, this is my personal favorite from the set. For one, it strays furthest from the source material. For another, I experimented much more heavily with dynamic changes in this song, and I'm honestly quite happy with the outcome!

Through the Seventh Gate ~Land of Heat and Clockwork~ is the second track from the <a href="http://soundcloud.com/konec0/sets/7th-gate-project">7th Gate Project</a>.

This song was heavily inspired by the music of the Castlevania series. More specifically, I tried to emulate the style of one particular song - "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyXRV7wkeyo">An Empty Tome</a>," from Order of Ecclesia. I think it's possibly one of my favorite songs from the series!

Through the Seventh Gate ~Land of Light and Rain~ is the third track from the <a href="http://soundcloud.com/konec0/sets/7th-gate-project">7th Gate Project</a>.

Slow songs are definitely not my forte. As such, Land of Light and Rain was the hardest of the four songs for me. I tried using sounds such as the bowed waterphone to create an unsettling atmosphere, but I think the song still ended up sounding too relaxed and even a little sluggish.

Slow songs are definitely something I have to improve on.

T.U.R.T.L.E. Power (feat. MegaRan)

An arrangement of Bratja from the original Fullmetal Alchemist series. I really, really like the Brotherhood soundtrack - it's one of my all time favourites - but I think Bratja from the original is almost as good. I reorchestrated this from scratch to practice with some things and test others and hopefully kept the feel of the original while adding a little of my own style.

I wish I had gotten into it much earlier as there's so many good pieces of music hidden behind 8bit blips and blops. I've been tinkering with music since I was a kid, composing tunes for fun. Nowadays, I mainly write orchestral scores for video games. Alongside this, with an extensive career in the games industry as a tools programmer I've now focused my skills on developing next-generation sample libraries and music software.
