Black Out Days (Stay Away)

This was recorded in one take on April the 19th, 2010 shortly after 9 pm in the Kangaroo studios with recording engineer Edward Parra .This is what I hope to be classified as a Sonata in C. The first movement is titled, "the mirror." The second movement is titled, "the dance." The third and final movement is titled, "the reflection." Bechstein piano. I improvised this piece the entire time. I had had these ideas flowing around in my head since the beginning of the semester. I used a French title because it belonged in many ways. This piece is at times spacial in the gallery of notes that I played. I was paying respect to Eric Satie. This piece was created from an experience that I shared with a mutual Artist, and our fellow classmates. For me,.... this was my take on the whole learning. It was a walk. A promenade. Je vous reconnais . A Bientot. Now it is up to her to create the dance. La musique que je vous donnez, est la danse que vous me donnez.

Spent a lot of time getting this ready...I hope you like it! I recorded and produced all instruments and played guitar over it...with the exception of two tracks where I am joined by the great SAM BLAM who blesses us with some of his wondrous turntable wizardry.
