Downtown Sao Paulo - Chris Kingdon & Blazing Encore

A veteran jazz funker, I have been listening and collecting soul, dance and jazz for the past 35 years and is a very important part of my life. Inspired by listening to some of the great grooves, mixes and re-edits that are currently out there I figured I should do something with all the music I have amassed and which I love and adore. I have never DJ'd and what I know about music I could write on the back of a cigarette packet ( I know, I know, it shows!), but thought I'd give this a go. I'm into all genres of soul, dance and nu jazz and like to dust off a little gem which never quite made it out there and give it a fresh vibe.

I started remixing in August 2011 just fooling around on Garageband with just my intuition and a little help from Youtube to get me started. I am now working on Logic 9 and am trying to produce some of my own tracks as well as remixing.Not having a musical bone in my body can be a little frustrating at times so if there are any budding, or indeed accomplished, musicians, vocalists, 12 piece horn sections (!) who have a soulful or jazzy vibe that would like to do some collaboration work then I’d love to hear from you….as I would any mastering guru’s – Jeeesh, what son of a bit*h invented that!! :))

I am truly amazed I actually have a following here on SC and that people are actually listening and downloading my stuff. To you, I would like to say a BIG thank you for all your kindness and words of encouragement, and to those DJ’s on Solar, Starpoint, SoulLegends, JFS, Soulmine, Soulpower,Stomp JazzFM, Back2Back and everyone else that has been brave enough to actually  air some of this stuff – it means a lot!
