The Samosa Funk rocket skipped across the MyHouseRadio atmosphere, speeding towards the outer limits of our known universe on a mission to find signs of extraterrestrial grooves.

The Black Light Disco Show bobbed and weaved its way back on the MyHouse Radio airwaves - now the smorgasbord of sass and class is available for your listening pleasure at leisure! 

Our host this week was BLD resident Memberberry, Esteban who was dishing out the grooves from BLD Towers’ newly fitted Planetarium like a chef at an all you can eat buffet. This week’s pickings included tracks from Ken@Work, Alien Disco Sugar, Pete Ellison and Jisco Dazz to name but four! 

Joining Esteban in Stellar Cartography was our guest for the evening, a dude who is making a most welcome return to the BLD fold, Even Funkier! 

Tom AKA Even Funkier has been a busy bee since he was last on the show. Kicking off a superb new weekly show on Mixlr, Tom has also completed a marathon streaming session for charity and found the time to see releases on massive labels such as See-Saw, Hot Digits Music and Too Slow To Disco. It was obvious that success was just around the corner for this absolute diamond geezer, and it’s thoroughly deserved in our humble opinion. Doc75 & Cole Kutz - Spin City

Black Light Disco plunged into the MyhouseRadio.fm airwaves with another Monday-busting jamboree of sonic soothers. 

This week, our dynamic duo Pookie Knight took the helm of the BLD bridge for a typically spectacular opening hour of disco delights. The lads outdid themselves with a first half that massaged the cranium in ways you won't have ever thought were possible. 

For the second half of the show we were delighted to welcome a very special guest - DJ and producer extraordinaire, Ben Banjo Field! 

Hailing from Costa Del Devon and now residing in Cardiff, Ben Banjo Field has always had a passion for music. After suffering a cardiac arrest back in 2011, his friends and family clubbed together to get him an iPad to help him through the coming months in hospital. He downloaded a DJ app and the power of music helped him recover and saw him through the tough times.

As the creator of the “Beach Bar Beats” brand Ben is prolific in producing fresh & uplifting summer house mixtapes, and he has since branched into more funky, disco vibes. Beach Bar Beats have now racked up more than 50k views on youtube.

Ben can be found DJ'ing in some of Cardiff’s prestigious night spots including Kuku, Vanilla Rooms & Pryzm. More recently he landed a residency at one of Cardiff's newest & most trendy hot spots, the Corporation Yard.

During the lockdowns of 2020 he created “The Discography Lessons” to help promote overcoming mental health through music. The project has been support by DJ's from all over the world including Lenny Fontana, Ladies From Mars, Michael Gray, Doctor Feelgood, Da Lukas & Yam Who?
Ben has also turned his hand to music production, with 3 tracks signed to German record label Groovy Firehorse 66 and plenty more tracks in the pipeline. You can hear his “Drive Time Disco” show on the airwaves every friday at 4pm on Broke FM, where he has been a resident DJ for the last 12 months.

Disco Waltons Sunday Service - October 2021

The usual mix of new, old, and old-made-new for this episode - oldies from the likes of The Commodores and Stanley Clarke, new stuff from Charly Angelz and Piotre Kiwignon, and old made new shizzle from Igor Gonya, JMMSTR, DJ Laurel and a couple of bits from myself. Was able to start this one a bit early so there’s a whole 70 minutes from me before I hand over to this fortnight’s guest.

The guest mix this time is a real treat - it’s my pleasure to welcome DJ, producer, promoter and all round good guy Chris Clark AKA DJ Clarkson. Chris is one half of DiscNoTheque with his partner in life and music Sarah Violet, and they put on regular nights of the same name around London and South East England, welcoming up and coming DJs alongside some of the biggest and best names on the scene. Their focus is on positive, uplifting, funky disco and house music, and Chris brings us an hour of wonderfully funky grooves. Get stuck in to this mix - it’s a beauty!

My special guest this week is Ben Banjo Field. Hailing from "Costa Del Devon", but now residing in Cardiff, Ben has always had a passion for music.

Ben has been DJing in some of cardiff’s prestigious night spots including Kuku, Vanilla Rooms & Pryzm.  with a career highlight of DJing at UEFA’s after party from the champions league final back in 2017, along with being the resident DJ at one of Cardiff's newest & triendiest hot spots, The Corporation Yard.

During the lockdowns of 2020 he created a music project called  “The Discography Lessons” to help promote overcoming mental health through music.  DJ mixes have been provided from major artists all over the world including Lenny Fontana, Ladies from Mars, Michael Gray, Doctor Feelgood, Da Lukas & Yam Who?

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure.
