There are many outstanding artists within Electronic Music, however, from another galaxy far, far away there is a human named Legowelt who has created his own world separated from all others. We had the pleasure of releasing a Legowelt remix on our Dim Garden Album release some months ago and now we've released a very special mix where you can listen to unreleased Legowelt tracks and a lot of tracks that he loves.
We believe that we live in a magnificent era being spoilt for choice and that’s how I feel when listening to Legowelt live sets. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Legowelt is one of the most influential artists of our time and a top artist who has always been identified as being in the Underground scene.

Perennially fascinated by old and battered noise-making machines, his dizzying output is defined by analogue textures and classic values ​​as well as an ever-roaming sense of sonic investigation that veers from techno to freaky house deepness via old school acid. A producer with a rare sense of humor.

Digital Tsunami podcast series has now reached a second centenary of episodes. And we’re thrilled to have Mayo, a trailblazing producer and inspiring selector from Amsterdam, for this occasion. One could state that her style is rooted in gritty strains of EBM and techno, but you can hear a great influence of punk, acid, and other genres that reflects a punk attitude. The power of accentuated and multi-layered character is felt across her releases – on United Identities, Fides Records, Marguerite Records and Brokntoys labels, to name a few – either it is a downtempo chugger or electro stomper. Mayo’s DT200 mix is an example of entrancing storytelling speaking to different influences, leading you from a slow prelude to a sweaty ending.

Second one for our new OYE podcast series is our good friend MEJLE. Since some year´s we are working with him now as he is always bringing the newest hotest Mechatronica stuff to our shop.

MEJLE is a DJ and co-owner of Mechatronica - the Berlin based record label and collective, founded in 2012. Mechatronica releases music from an umbrella of artists across their labels, and holds club night residencies across Berlin for the past decade. 

His rugged and dynamic approach to DJing blends with a decade-long passion for collecting music and mixing records, to produce energetic sets that surf across electro, acid, EBM, techno, breaks, jungle, chicago and detroit sounds, italo, new beat, wave and everything in between.

Creatures of Light vol.16 with Zorz at Lyl Radio (09.03.2023)

My first introduction to DJ Stingray was from this mix I obtained of his appearance in Rotterdam's "famous to those who knew" Bootleg DJ Cafe in 2003. Back then his style was something I had never heard before and the sound made an profound impact on me as something new, fast, hard but funky and very futuristic.

Some of the tracks in this mix have been on my wishlist for ages, a  a lot have never been identified. As always, feel free to comment if you know any of them.

Before COVID 19 dominated our lives it used to be socially acceptable (encouraged?) for a couple hundred people to be sweating on top of each other at 6 a.m on a Salford industrial estate, how times have changed.

At the start of the year after a couple months of touring i felt like i had managed to build up a specific aesthetic with my djing that this club set captured pretty well. Those closing hours of the party are often the ones I feel most comfortable in and The White Hotel is probably the best venue in the country, these factors combined made this show my favorite of 2020 (all 3 months of it) 

We managed to get the first couple hours of my set recorded so here is an excerpt from the evening.

Rough and ready with bags of energy, I hope u enjoy it as much as i did, much love to the stamina cru for staying with me.

Identified Patient’s Bleep mix is a journey into darkside psychedelia and netherworld electronics which tops 100 minutes in length. The tracklisting is hugely varied in style - dark ambient, mutant junglism, caustic industrial experiments, leftfield techno and just about any other style with a confrontational, challenging aesthetic is roped into service by Identified Patient here. However, no matter which genre the producer/DJ is operating in at a given moment, the uniform feeling one gets from this mix is of dark energy. From the wandering drones and trip-hop lopes which kick things off to the frenetic rhythm work of the home straight, this mix remains as seductive as it is ominous.

"When acoustic-based electro and industrial sounds come together, it gives a kind of musical tension and discomfort that I really like. In a way, I feel this mix is a reflection of that. The ending includes SSIEGE’s Blind track, taken from his Fading Summer album, to set the vision on a colder period ahead." -  @identified-patient
