Since 2014 Tominori Hosoya has been steadily releasing music for the love of creative expression.

His music has appeared on the likes of Minuendo Recordings, Snail Juice Records, Mixx Records and many more. However, his most recent outing has seen him appear on the prolific New York based imprint Scissor & Thread with a new EP which see's him operating under the alias of Tomi Chair alongside his own name. The release itself spans the realms of ambient, electronica, house and deep moody soundscapes. 

Based in Tokyo, Japan he has evolved as a producer and disc jockey across a number of years, utilising his own interest in progressive, forward thinking experimental music.

Meandering between worlds he is a truly unique talent and we are delighted to have him contribute to our mix series.

"Bel (meaning ‘bleating’ in Catalan) is a music selection made under two premises: (1) all the selected records must have been released in German-speaking countries, and (2) folk — understood in an open and vague way — as a starting point and also driving force. Other close subjects of personal interest also appear here: minimalism, dialectality, children's music and Orff's Schulwerk, tenderness and sweetness in sadness, kaleidoscopic hippism, lo-fi and amateurism, etc."

The selection was recorded at Felix’s house (Vielen Dank Felix für die Gastfreundschaft), because of Binomi – HOC Radio’s kind invitation (Gràcies Joan i Jordi per pensar en mi i deixar-me fer). 

IM is one-third of Urpa i musell (@user-591431088), the tiny record label related to the record shop Discos Paradiso (@discosparadiso) in Barcelona. He comes from Mataró and lives in Munich.

The tone of the hour is one of ebbing and flowing forces; beginning with the tentative modular synthesis of Peter Frohmader’s ‘Spiral’ and the raga-esque melodies of Hama’s ‘Ataraghine’, the undercurrent of rhythms reaches its peak with the heavy, Neu!-flavoured space rock of ‘Underglass’ by OLD and some liquid Frippertronics from French cult legends Heldon.
