It's not often we have a Mix of the Day on a weekend, but when we do they really are something special! German DJ/producer Matthias Meyer proves just that today, offering up an hour of smooth house and techno blends.

Now a staple of Hamburg label Liebe*Detail, Meyer saw his debut release through the label back in 2006. Since then, he's developed a much-loved signature style, building up a long list of requests for original tracks and remixes.

On October 4th, Meyer will show off his skills behind the wheels of steel, as new London promoters We Concur team up with Secret Garden Party's Temple of Boom hosts Avant Garde, for an night of the very best in underground dance at Corsica Studios. Alongside Meyer, Matthew Dekay, Baikal, Maeve boss The Drifter and We Concur resident Qash will all take to the booth.

A true patriot of the underground sounds, Shugga is one of Durban's finest Techno artists. Every Thursday night she plays host to an online radio show dedicated to all things Techno, she holds residency at one of south africas most renowned nightclubs THE ORIGIN. while the rest of her week is typically packed with gigs in both DBN and JHB.

“Purveyor of deep, infectious house grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.”

This is how Donovan/4myDAMNself describes himself as a DJ/Producer. Never too afraid to go too deep, musical selections ae his own therapy. Having grown up on a combination of funk, soul and rnb, all of these influences infused with a love for hip hop and UK garage. Donovan ended up with a very mixed spectrum of musical influences, all these translate into sets with beautiful synth work chunky bass lines, ethereal backdrops and the occasional vocal hook.
Though he loves playing in nightclubs and special events his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing songs together, as a producer he has found an additional outlet to express himself musically.
“For me, it’s all about mood and a deep, hypnotic groove… playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date. “

Weston & Engine (WE) are a South African deep house/ minimal/techno trio coming from Johannesburg. Each member in our trio has been producing electronic dance music for about 6 and a half years with 7 years of professional Dj'ing experience.

Some of our inspirations come from music across the board- jazz, blues, classical, trip hop, hip hop, garage, house music and progressive.

Biography:

Professionally on the circuit since 2008, FALLEN would become respected among’st his peers as being one of the Deep house & NuDisco authorities through his selection of groove injected bass lines, over-lying soft vocal transitions and of a certain style of percussive grooves which creates an energetic undertone emanating through his DJ sets. While heavily influenced from IDM (International Dance Music) with clear roots in House and Techno, In most cases his sound cannot easily be related to any established genre. FALLEN’s performances in fact vary across all the spectra of electronic music, from those deep rolling bass lines to more Indie, experimental sound scapes.

Current residencies include Solid State, which is a dance label created by DJ/Producer Costa Ludick currently signed to Triple Fire Music based in Cape Town. Described as an underground movement, Solid State to date has thrown 7 venue filling electronic music events which have grown from strength to strength attracting the attention of global energy drink powerhouse Red Bull who will be sponsoring the 2014 leg of all SS events seeing a vision come to light of incorporating a full Red Bull Music Studio series of DJ line Ups to push and create awareness of an immense of amount of talent on the underground circuits around South Africa.

Current projects to look forward to is the release of FALLEN’s new Digital EP, “Things You Do” looking to be released in early 2014 and sooner to hit the digital shelves with be a featured podcast for New York based radio station Amazing NYC with those links available directly from the official Twitter page.

Biography:

Music Expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. The adventure of the emotive art epitomizes all that D'Phault is. A simple desire to let his music express what words cannot.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa D'Phault was a self-taught pianist as well as connoisseur of the finest emotive art.Joining the Soul Candi Institute of Music at the age of 18, he desired to better his skills in music as an art as well as the production of it. 

Signed to Blindfold Recordings (Denmark/Barcelona), D'Phault's passion for his music can be felt during every live set. He has been working tirelessly in studio to refine his sound and gain more experience in the art. 

Playing alongside International artists as well as all of S.A's own Major artists in the past, his desire to spread his sound world wide is the fuel behind every beat, drop and emotively inspired bass line that is and will be released.

With a sound inspired by the likes of Noir Music, Mario Basanov, Rodriguez Jr. , Stimming, Pete Oak, Mano Le Tough and Bonobo to name a few.

D'Phault is developing a production talent based on the two key ingredients; heart and emotion to convey his passion through Music, To the world.
