ARP sequence featuring the glorious Cwejman MMF-1s filter in 12db/oct mode.

A Yarns is in ARP mode and feeding pitch to a Cwejman VCO-2RM. This is routed into a Cwejman MMF-1s in 12dB/oct low pass mode. I play the chords live via MIDI keyboard. 
The MMF-1s is modulated by the ADSR-VC2 (CV1) and gets subtle modulation on CV2 and Q-peak via a D-LFO in random mode.
The attacks of the ADSR-VC2 are also modulated a bit via the Modcan Quad LFO. 
The MMF-1s is set to subtle saturation and 2nd harm distortion.
Last part of the signal route: VCA-MX4 -> MX-4S -> AI-2 -> Prism AD -> Protools. Bit of Adaptiverb and EchoBoy added. 

Loving the MMF-1s in this mode, so warm and nostalgic sounding!

The first of a pair of gorgeous 1968 Brüel & Kjær type 2107 all tube swept band pass filters originally built for laboratory use awakening for the first time during resurrection, major overhaul and modification for creative studio use by Dani Wilson at Hideaway Studio.   Originally designed for frequency analysis, these majestic hand cranked beasts can achieve selective audio filtering up to 50dB/octave in tube regenerative circuits covering the full audio spectrum split over 6 frequency bands with mechanical auto-selection between them.

Part 1:  2107 fed with a raw sawtooth with a vibrato
Part 2: 2107 fed with a bright, harmonically rich, analog string pad

The sheer build quality of these units is remarkable - the enamel painted front panel consists of a giant aluminum casting on which those chunky Bakelite controls are mounted and have a wonderfully solid and reassuring feel to them. Definitely a fine example of classic industrial design!

1968 Brüel &  Kjaer type 2107: All Tube Swept BPF Awakens

a short test with the fantastic LW 258VCO (coupled with serge waveshaper). this connection and the joint feedback path makes these two osc extremely versatile. lots of harmonic overtones and even undertones possible depending on what mixture of wave is going through the tws.
also a test how to use the addac stochastic function generator in a tamed setting, every envelope is slightly different, the sequence gets "humanized".

both sides of dunst ping the mmf-1 in dual bandpass mode. dunst "clocks" stepped side of r*s ssg for pitch cv and delay modulation. 
dunst modulates itself. d0 delay with feedback path through doepfer spring reverb.

Taken from 'It Should Be Us', Andy Stott’s first release since 2016 and first EP since 2011 - a doublepack of slow and raw productions for the club, recorded this year and following a series of releases that started with ‘Passed Me By’ and ‘We Stay Together’ early this decade. 

There’ll be a new Andy Stott album in 2020, but in the meantime... this one’s for dancing..
