I worked on Krakenkraft's track from disquiet0697 (@winterer)
As I mentioned last week, I’m hot on the ronroco these days — been playing it a lot and really feeling in shape. So I added two ronroco tracks: one with strummed chords (double-tracked), and another with little repetitive lines. I only spent about an hour on this one, but it turned out to be the most satisfying collab for me this week.
Not sure if there’s room for a third voice — hope so! I wasn’t totally sure what Krakenkraft meant by “CRUX,” but since I’m from the south, I went with the astronomical reference: the Southern Cross.

My contribution is on the right. 

For my part, I acted in a supporting role, starting with 14 Below Zero’s notes & Cherry Audio’s emulation of Octave Electronics’ 1976 CAT synth and then adding effects & editing where I felt appropriate. I had such a block on mixing this because I dislike hard panning for most things…so I mixed it in a way I preferred. After I felt good about that mix, I hard panned it again (except for some effects) and yeah, I still liked it. This should be fun for someone to add to next week.

The Assignment: Record the final third of a trio.

I just wanted to play bass on something because it felt like it had been a while since I picked up my bass.  The third part of this project always felt like the right time for basslines too.  I don't really like when the low end is panned hard left or right to be honest.  It feels unbalanced to me.  Anyway, Torpid and Coraline's beautiful piece from last week really stuck out to me so it was an easy choice.  I liked writing counter point to Torpid's fills at the end of the measure.  Hope I didn't funk it up too much

Disquiet Junto Project 0700: View Frame
The Assignment: Share the view and some sounds inspired by the view.

The cover picture shows the view from my window. I used a virtual modular system and wanted to create the feeling of crowded chaos, of structure and nervousness, of importance and frivolity. All from a distance, as I am still outside the picture looking out of the window.

The (cover) image does not perfectly equal the inner image I had in mind, as it is lazy sunday afternoon and vacation time, so the city is not that busy at the moment.
