Ronya is part of the next generation of DJs setting Oslo’s dance floors alight. A regular fixture amongst the Det Gode Selskab collective and beyond, these past few years, she’s staked a claim in the minimal landscape of the city’s House and Techno universe. 

She arrives at the Jaeger Mix pursuing the sound we have come to recognise from the DJ. With sonic aesthetics that err on the side of the stark, and styles that reach far beyond the archetypal, there’s no one distinction that sets this mix apart, but the sound remains consistent. 

Whether breaking up the conformity of a beat or importing elements from divergent genres, Ronya‘s musical trajectory follows like a dialogue with the dance floor. It keeps everything grounded in the rhythm – possibly indicative of Ronya’s drumming roots – but it allows for expression beyond the functional.

KYT ist eine analoge Entdeckerin düsterer, glitchiger und minimalistischer Klanglandschaften. Manchmal taucht sie in die rohe Energie des Old-School-Electro ein – die Klänge, die ihre frühen Jahre geprägt haben.

INTERVIEW:
1. Wie lange legst Du nun schon auf und wie hast Du es gelernt?

KYT: Ich lege seit ungefähr drei Jahren auf. Zunächst habe ich mir vieles selbst beigebracht, später hat mir ein damaliger Partner und sehr guter Freund wertvolle Tipps gegeben – darunter auch das Auflegen mit Vinyl.

2. Gibt es ein bestimmtes Event an das Du Dich gerne zurückerinnerst?

K: Das erste Mal im Sisyphos aufzulegen war ein besonderer Moment für mich. Ich dachte mir: „Okay, jetzt wird’s real!“

3. Was wünschst Du Dir, sollte in der Clubszene .anders laufen?

K: Ich wünsche mir, dass FLINTA*-Personen nicht mehr als „Pflicht“ auf dem Line-up betrachtet werden, sondern als selbstverständlicher Teil der Szene. 

4. Wie würdest Du Deinen Sound beschreiben?

K: Im House-Bereich liebe ich minimalistische und glitchy Sounds. Gleichzeitig bin ich mit Electro und French Touch aufgewachsen – diese Einflüsse sind bis heute in meiner Musik spürbar.

5. Was liegt Dir neben dem Auflegen noch sehr am Herzen?

K: Ich bin auch Performerin, Tänzerin und Luftakrobatin. Ich kreiere Performances von Grund auf – vom Kostümdesign über die Choreografie bis hin zur gesamten Inszenierung.

6. Wenn Du ein Wort wärst, welches wäre das?

K: Kaleidoskop.

7. Musik machen bedeutet für Dich …?

K: Eine tiefe Verbindung zu mir selbst und zu anderen. Meine Gefühle unmittelbar auszudrücken. Den Kopf ausschalten, die Kontrolle loslassen und meiner Intuition Raum geben – eine Reise durch die Vielfalt meines Inneren.

8.Was möchtet Du uns noch erzählen ?

K: Neben meinem Vinyl-only-Projekt lege ich auch als Kyra Techno auf.
