What a pleasure to open the floor for the lovely @l0ttal0ve @riyoon @ninze and @pi_cao - one of those nights where I should have left early but just couldnt stop dancing 😆

This set is one of my favorites so far as the sounds are really a true reflection of my inner world. I also hoped to honor female artists through the beginning of the set. Thank you to everyone who lit up the dancefloor with their smiles and vibes, it has left me feeling so full of happiness and gratitude 💓

Weil Ich Ein Vogel Bin...

I keep my hopes on, meine Augen offen, beobachte die Welt vor mir, vergesse was hinter mir vergeht. Gehe durch die Straßen, trete auf nassgrauen Asphalt, stolper über Stock und Stein, gehe weiter und kneife die trockenen Augen zusammen. Auf der Suche nach den Farben. Ein Knopfdruck und meine kabellosen Kopfhörer schirmen die Welt um mich ab, löschen den Lärm aus meinem Kopf. Die Vorstellung beginnt, Kopfkino, Stereo Sound. Eile weiter, schiebe mich durch die Straßen und an der nächsten Ecke links aufs Abstellgleis. Will Platz machen für die, die noch schnell fahren können, die bereits im Frühjahr den Motor gewechselt haben, neuer Sprit, neue Riemen. Gleich gehts weiter, denk ich mir. Nur nochmal kurz ausatmen. Und während ich so stehe und um mich blicke, sehe ich sie. Die Farben. An den Balkonen, an den Bäumen, kleine Knospen und Blüten. Ich reibe mir die Augen und atme lange ein. Mache die Musik lauter und laufe los, einfach los, ohne Ziel. Strecke meine Arme in die Luft und renne, dem Frühling entgegen, @najesh_and_artisoko im Ohr. Endlich!

Gepflückt, gestampft und eingekocht - Gelée Bass. Nach ersten musikalischen Ausflügen in Marburg, wo die Gelegenheiten für ihren vertrippt-verspielten Downtempo-Sound eher rar gesät waren, hat es sie nun nach Berlin verschlagen – auf der Suche nach mehr Bass, mehr Langsamkeit und mehr Tanz. Die Liebe zum Downtempo entflammte beim Mystic Creatures Festival: eine tief vibrierende Offenbarung. Ihr Sound ist ein zähflüssiges Klang-Gelée – langsam, hypnotisch, warm und tief. Bereit, sich durch Körper und Raum zu ziehen.

Wir hatten das Vergnügen und Gelée Bass hat uns noch ein paar Fragen beantwortet :) 

1. Wie lange legst Du nun schon auf und wie hast Du es gelernt?
Seit einem Jahr in etwa. bisschen nebenher. Angefangen hab ich es als neues Hobby mit meinem Partner. Anfangs  haben wir nur abwechselnd beim kochen aufgelegt und es uns dabei irgendwie halb intuitiv halb mit tutorials selbst beigebracht. Daraus ist dann unser DJ-Duo tatzentanz entstanden und für Solo-Projekte bin ich als Gelée Bass unterwegs. 

2. Gibt es ein bestimmtes Event oder Moment, an das/den Du Dich gerne zurückerinnerst?
Am Liebsten mag ich die spontanen Auflege-Sessions mit einer zweiten Person. Es fühlt sich an wie kommunizieren durch Musik, in einem Flow, von dem man noch nicht weiß, wie er sich entwickelt.

3. Was wünschst Du Dir, sollte in der Clubszene .anders laufen?
Ich würde mir (vor allem aus der Perspektive einer viel Tanzenden) mehr gesprächsfreie Tanzflächen wünschen. Mehr Räume für nonverbale (Tanz-)Kommunikation; Musikfühlen auf dem Dancefloor und Austauschen daneben. 

4. Wie würdest Du Deinen Sound beschreiben?
Langsam, verträumt, vertrippt, verspielt und alles in einem tiefen Bass-Gelée.

5. Wenn Du ein Wort wärst, welches wäre das?

6. Musik machen bedeutet für Dich …?
Eine Art von Kommunikation, Selbstausdruck, Meditation, Verarbeitung von Erlebnissen und kreativem Ausleben.

7. Bist du Teil eines Kollektivs oder steckst du selbst hinter Events, Labels oder Workshops?
Bisher leider noch nicht, aber hoffentlich in der Zukunft! :)

Der Herbst zeigt sich noch mal von seiner schönsten Seite und wir schwelgen bei warmen Tee über diesen fantastischen Festival Sommer. Dort haben wir Denny Dipper im Juli auf dem CoSy Festival kennengelernt – aus einer Camper-Nachbarschaft wurde sofort eine kleine Festivalsymbiose. Seitdem wissen wir: Denny bringt nicht nur Musik, sondern großartige Vibes mit. Der Augsburger DJ steht seit 2016 an den Decks und bewegt sich am liebsten genrefluid durch alle Klangwelten. Mit großer Leidenschaft serviert er Downtempo, SlowTech, House, TechHouse oder MinimalDeepTech – je nach Floor, Slot und Stimmung, immer mit einem feinen Gespür für die Atmosphäre.

Seit 2017 ist er zudem als Veranstalter aktiv und prägt die Club- und Festivallandschaft in Augsburg und München mit. Als Mitgründer des Fantabulosa Kollektivs entwirft er Floors, Festival-Konzepte und schafft Räume, in denen Menschen zwischen Bass und Glitzer einfach sie selbst sein können. Mit seinen Partyreihen 4-2-the-flo0r (City Club Augsburg) und BabaJaga (SohoStage) setzt er regelmäßig Highlights in der Szene.

Auch im Festivalbereich ist Denny mittlerweile tief verwurzelt: Seit 2020 ist er beim Iltis Burn beteiligt, beim Fiasco Festival kuratierte er zwischen 2020 und 2023 den legendären TajMaSchall Floor und ist seit 2024 im Deko- und Aufbau-Team mit dabei. Darüber hinaus führten ihn überregionale Gigs ins Berliner GoldenGate oder 2017 sogar zum sagenumwobenen Plötzlich am Meer Festival in Polen.

Für unsere Igelkarussell-Reihe hat Denny Dipper nun einen Podcast aufgenommen, der im Gesamtbild wie ein kleines Kunstwerk daherkommt: ein herrlich treffendes Intro leitet ein großartiges Storytelling ein und vertieft mit zauberhaft knarzigen Synthies verspulte Grooves und Beats, die einen direkt in eine andere Welt ziehen. Ein Set, das beweist, wie tief Denny in dieser Musik ist  – und wie meisterhaft er sie in Geschichten verwandelt. Ganz großer Dank geht von der Lahn raus an den wunderschönen Lech 🧡

✘ Maybe could you tell us how did you get into the music cooking pot?
I was always fascinated by the possibility of creating your own way of music, inspired by friends like Innellea or Yubik in 2013. Mixing sound is highly addictive and I love it!
