*for those of you playing at home, the referance to the giant killer bees is actually the giant wasps from s04e07 "the unicorn and the wasp" (yep ...im a nerd) and obviously not bees. Since we mainly play to non-whovians i needed an absurd attention grabber to start off with ...and nothing nice rhymed with "wasps" :P

The Ride

This is my first attempt at demoing the intro to the comedic scifi radio show/mock space rock opus I've been writing this year called "The Space Adventures of Captain Awesome"

This little demo contains the main theme and then the first section that will be narrated over in a kind of war of the worlds/journey to the center of the earth fashion

It's also the first time i ever recorded any synth, so forgive the unpolishedness!

SAoCA Intro Theme (First Demo)

So i've been writing this big synth heavy song for the past couple of days and finally got it near the point that i was happy with it, so I thought it'd be a good idea to sleep on it before uploading, so that i could do a final mix with fresh ears and whatnot

When i went to do said final mix, my DAW (ironically being "Reaper") super crashed and i started having sound card issues. While i could fix the sound card stuff, i still couldn't open the old recording (I'll most likely have to do all the live parts again :/) and well ...that just sucks.

Still! rather than wallow in self pity for too long i decided to do an 8-bit version of the track for funsies that i suppose will serve as a teaser (even if the basic element of Mass Effect-ness is completely gone in 8-bit :P)

Written/recorded in a break between playthroughs of the ginormous time-sucking ball of immersive awesomeness that is the Mass Effect Trilogy!

A little heavier than the stuff i usually write, but it's hard to softly build something on top of the Reaper "VWAAAMP" Started as a little synth loop ala the awesome soundtrack to the game but then i found the codex reading and thought it could use some live instruments!

Indoctrination

A little work in progress track that I'm submitting for the prog rock band "Land of the Blind" that I play bass for. Still got a fair bit of work to go, but all the basic elements are there.

Hey internet peoples! We are Blue Turtle Shell, a melbourne based 2 piece guy/girl pop-culture (nerd) rock sensation!
We've just finished our first EP "Blue Version" and are currently working on the follow up "Red Version" (do i detect some sort of pokemon reference..? :P)
All our stuff is arranged/written by us and recorded at Clara St. Studios (AKA Homan's Bedroom...) using DI and one lonley SM58 with Cubase.
But really, as a comedy-ish acoustic novelty band, we're much better to see/hear live! right now we're earning some EXP playing every open mic we can find.
