Sydney indie outfit Diver are at it again with their new single 'Blaze Away'. The track builds on the sound that they are quickly getting a reputation for. Synth driven indie rock, culminating with stomping bass and drums. Blaze Away has all this in abundance. It is a tune destined to get people moving. With layers of piano and synth, catchy hooks and a melody that will have you singing along after 1 listen, Blaze Away is a standout in the Diver catalogue. Glittering synths give way to a driving rhythm section, in a reflection of the band’s unabashed devotion to their shimmering and gritty inner-west heartland. Lyrically, Blaze Away is about embracing what can be controlled, while taking whatever else comes along the way. The good, and the bad. Throwing caution to the wind and living in the moment are also motifs that the song constantly comes back to. Diver are not shy of hiding the many influences on their sound, and acts like Wolf Alice, DMA's, The Jezabels, The Killers and Oasis are all evident on Blaze Away.
