The title L(C)OVE(I)D is a portmanteau blending two words, “LOVED” and “COVID.” Since the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of people’s daily lives, L(C)OVE(I)D depicts how the pandemic has left some cracks in our family relationships. There are two 5-note main themes:  LOVED: A F# D# E D and COVID: C F# D# B D. 
L(C)OVE(I)D comprises 3 sections. The lyrical LOVED theme is stated in Section 1 in 4/4 time, emphasizing a strong 4-against-3 relationship in both hands. The COVID theme opens Section 2 in 19/16 time and is followed by its 45 variants. Section 3 depicts how human relationships changed in the post-COVID-19 era.

Echoes of Sorrow

In the quiet of the night,
When stars above refuse to light,
We feel the ache, the empty space,
Left by a cherished, loving face.

A heart once full now bears the scars,
Of love that's traveled to the stars.
In every shadow, every sigh,
We hear the echoes of goodbye.

Their laughter lingers in the air,
A ghostly whisper, everywhere.
We reach for hands we cannot hold,
A pain that’s raw, a grief so bold.

Memories like a bittersweet song,
Remind us that they're gone too long.
In every smile, in every tear,
We feel the weight of what was dear.

Days seem darker, nights more cold,
Without their warmth, their stories told.
We wander through our silent days,
In search of light in endless haze.

Yet in the sorrow, love remains,
A testament to joy and pains.
For every tear that drops like rain,
Is proof of love, enduring pain.

So though the hurt cuts deep and true,
And life feels gray in loss’s hue,
We cherish every moment shared,
And honor them with hearts that cared.

03 Good Smell

2016 was a year of great upheaval in my musical endeavours. After Namakua left the band Flordelavida, Birgit and I were left. This piece was created during a studio session in the film studios of Lars Bunse (Indicato.net). Produced, mixed and mastered by me in Andalusia after seven more years. A piece of melancholy, for a time in which a lot of heart music was created. Unfortunately, Birgit and I have parted ways. But I wanted this enchanting piece to be preserved in my sound cosmos.
