EP! (Every Person!)is a short body of work comprised solely from short phone audio recordings submitted from all over the country. The mission statement of this project was to isolate collaboration in a new way; moulding totally unrelated audio clips into something fresh and cohesive, while simultaneously staying true to the sample’s original form. The intent is to allow listeners to hear the way the sounds shift and reshape themselves in real-time to create a whole bigger than the sum of its parts. It's as though the curtain is being pulled back on the production process musically; you get a better idea of all the moving parts involved in a piece.

The project also has interesting implications on the wider social aspect of music creation; many of the participants have never met, many recordings were made hundreds of kilometres apart, with some clips recorded years ago, and some yesterday. It is a collage of time and place. Despite this, the sounds come together in (sometimes) perfect harmony. I believe this speaks to the universality of music in general; it is something that extends beyond the barriers of date or distance.

Some tracks in this project adhere to more traditional song structures and tonalities, while I allowed others to go down interesting sonic rabbit holes, sometimes emerging into a totally different landscape than I had originally intended. I hope you listen to this project with an open mind, and get as much joy out of it as I have.
